Reviews

"The included Klipsch amplifier and speaker set (subwoofer included) delivers superb sound for music and video. This system stands head and shoulders above even the best speakers on lesser computers."
- James Coates, San Antonio Express-News [11/10/2002]

"The top-of-the-line for three-piece systems is the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. They sell for around $200 [$179] and are worth every penny, if you desire a high-quality sound that can put most home stereo systems to shame."
- Portsmouth Herald [7/10/2001]

"Anyone looking for a amplified speaker system for any reason, whether for that new PlayStation 2, MP3 players, computers, or for any other electronic device, would be hard pressed to find a comparable system at even twice the price."
- Yanman.com [9/18/2006]

"Overall, the ProMedia 2.1 system rocked our world as much as the V.2-400 system did a year ago…the outlandish output of this compact system must be heard to be believed."
- MaximumPC [9/18/2006]

"But what did it sound like? In a word, incredible."
- formen.ign.com [9/18/2006]

"The new de facto 2.1 standard by which other competing products will be judged."
- Gamers Depot [9/18/2006]

"Compared to the other multimedia speakers on the market, Klipsch remains at the head of the pack."
- Firing Squad [9/18/2006]

"Like it's Big Brother, these speakers will peel the paint off the walls."
- PC Gamer [9/18/2006]

"…if you close your eyes, you could almost swear you were listening to high-end stereo speakers for your living room."
- Dave Salvatore, Computer Gaming World [9/18/2006]

power handlingFTC Rated Per Satellite: 55 watts/channel @ ≤ 1% THD, 200Hz - 1KHz (Note: all channels driven)
FTC Rated Subwoofer: 50 watts @ ≤ 7% THD, 40 - 100 Hz
Max Burst Power*: 200 watts @ ≤ 1% THD (Note: all channels driven)
*Maximium Burst Power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the speakers under normal operating conditions. While the FTC power rating indicates power available on a continuous, long-term basis, multi-channel systems do not rely on that type of power. Instead, the amplifier is called upon to deliver large, short-term bursts of power to be able to support today’s digital music, games and movie formats. In addition to the required FTC power rating, we have provided the maximum burst output as a better indication of the product’s true performance.

these speakers are amazing... for people that like a loud bass you will not be disappointed. but its not just that, even the sound coming from the 2 sattelites is incredible, you here every bit of the music and some extra sounds that you probably would not hear on other speakers. These speakers have amazing sound and even though they are a little more expensive than some other speakers on the market, it is well worth it.      » READ MORE

I got 3 of these babies hooked up to my PC including JBL Creature II 2.1 as centre speaker. The bass is excellent when all 4 sets of speakers are powered on. I hooked up the speakers to the HT Omega Claro+ 7.1CH sound card. I just love the sound when watching anime, movies, etc... :)       » READ MORE

I was shopping around for a good set of speakers so I could crank some tunes at a party, and I came across these. Initially what attracted me was the price, I haven't seen anything cheaper, with as many features and with as good a reputation as the Logitecs. A good reliable brand, went to the store, and there was really only one speaker set that was better, and that was twice as much. Awesome speakers, sound quality is amazing, ample number of speakers to fill any room you have with sound, doesn't distort at high volumes or frequencies. The only negatives about this product is that there is no control for the treble...but that doesn't really matter because if there was, then I could honestly say that there would be WAAAY too much bass. Easy to install, you don't even need the book, if you can match colours, then you're good to go. All in all, a great product with great value, now I just have to see how long it lasts..I just bought it today btw. Oh and the speakers are wall mountable or you can just have them on your desk...which is pretty cool I think       » READ MORE

I'm not a hardcore audiophile... but I listen to a lot of ambient/space-type music that has a wide range of frequencies and sounds. I bought these speakers to replace my 10-year-old Aiwa 5.1 shelf stereo system in the living room, and all I can say is, WOW! I can now hear all sorts of subtleties in music that I never heard before -- even though my old system was 5.1 and this is 2.1.       » READ MORE

These speakers are incredible!! Wow I'm totally floored by their performance.I've paired these speakers with an XFI Xtreme Gamer sound card and they pound. I have only pumped these speakers at half volume with the bass turned halfway up and they are loud enough to support a massive house party.       » READ MORE

Overall, this setup is well worth it, even at reg price, but even better if you get it for a lower price. Definitely the best 2.1 speakers set you can get for the price.. and would definitely be comparable to lets say a setup using a receiver and speakers that costs $1000... at more than $1000 of course those dedicated setups would be better, and you would definitely want those in the lviign room, but for inside a bedroom, these speakers can definitely give any sound system lower than $1000 for a run for the money, especially when u combine these with a great soundcard. I personally have the Sondigo Inferno 7.1 PCI sound card with these and they just sound awesome.. ive also tried comparing these to the x230 and theres jsut no competition.. and dont try using onboard soundcard with these.. u will just waste these speakers....      » READ MORE

What a pair of THX speakers! Weight of speakers = Better sound quality. True again. Was able to hear sounds that was never heard previously using another brand of speakers. Song was an MP3! Amazing! Crisp mid to high range. Good bass if you need it. Had to turn it low so not to get the unexpected boom when I am working in a quiet environment.      » READ MORE

These are top notch sounding 2:1 speakers! The bass is fantastic, and the sound from the satellites are close to my other Klipsch speakers I have. The wiring for these speakers could be improved, as it seems kind of dated with their setup. My biggest issue is the spot for the on/off switch, it's buried at the back and bottom of the sub, making it a pain to turn power on/off. Why they don't have the power switch on the satellite is beyond me. It's all about the sound that would make get another set of klipsch speakers.      » READ MORE
