Have used this device for a couple of years & it has worked well. Doesn't have a sata connection so has been replaced with a new one.

A fast solution to transfering data from old or infected drives. Although it provides no protection to the drive. it is much faster to hook up a drive with this VS a drive enclosure.

This is a handy little tool for attaching random hard drives to computers. It allows you to hotplug any old hard drive you have lying around into a computer without opening it up or restarting it.

I've been using this for more than 6 months, now, and I still really like it. I wasn't sure how it would hold up with repeated use, as it looks quite flimsy, but it's travelled along in my tool kit with no problems. The only complaint I have is that the power cord is in two pieces, which is awfully easy to have come apart in the middle of some important I/O operation. Bad news. :-)

Very good product to use as testing/troubleshooting purposes, and maybe even using as a permanent adapter.

This little baby is perfect for backing up data without having to spend a bunch on an enclosure or an external hard drive. I now keep all my storage hard drives locked away and when I need to access them I just whip out the USB connector and away I go. Extremely handy.

This is a handy little piece of equipment. Initially i thought it was broken as it doesn't work with an older western digital 250gb hard drive. But it worked with everything else. The only thing i don't like about it is the fact that there isn't any on/off switch. You have to yank out the cord to power it off and i just plain don't like that. It is $30 for a very simple design, i think if it had an on/off switch i wouldn't complain about the price.

I used this device to back up two 2.5" drives. Everything worked very well. The power supply is not needed for a 2.5 driver. It is like having an external enclosure without the case. The drive connector is made out of hard plastic so it should not wear out quickly and it won't fall apart as you are pulling it out of a drive. On the down side I couldn't get the 3.5 side to work properly so I have RMA'd it. The connector on the device is narrower than the slot on the 3.5" drive so you have to be careful when you plug it in or you will miss a set of pins. The power supply connector would not plug into one drive so I had to use a Y power cable between the supply and the drive. I like the concept and look forward to trying the replacement out.
