Well its a good basic firewire card, dont really need anything more. Comes with a cable and has 3 external ports/1 internal port. Works fine without a CD in windows xp, just let windows install it and your good to go!

The CD does NOT contain drivers; it contains virtually useless outdated versions of Acrobat Reader, Quicktime, etc. as well as some pathetic Ulead video software.

Strangely enough it doesn't always play nice with XP Service pack 2. If you have a straight install of XP with integrated Service pack 2 then you might have to install a different Firewire card in it first and then install this so that the drivers are not broken. I had a nec based firewire card in one of my computers, took it out and put this in and this worked. On my other computer I had just installed windows xp w/sp2 and I put this in and windows doesn't know what kind of pci card it is. Did the same thing on the second pc - installed the nec firewire card and let xp install the drivers automatically, then swapped it for this one and xp installed the drivers for the via firewire pci card. Weird. All that matters is that the actual product does work and my customers are happy.

Installed it in my PC, and worked just as advertised. Very satisfied for the price I paid for. I would certainly recommend purchase for PC,s not installed with Fire Wire.

J'ai acheter cette carte Firewire pour installer dans des ordinateurs qui n'ont pas de ports IEEE-1394 intégrés à leurs carte maitresse. En solde à 10$ c'est toutes une affaire! Le câble inclus avec cette carte n'est pas bien long mais pour le prix payé faut pas se pleindre surtout qu'un cable Firewire vendu séparément vaut le prix que j'ai payé cette carte. Un bon achat que je recommande même au prix courant.

I bought it because I need some firewire ports for a PC. It works as advertised. I can't ask for more with the regular price. The only thing that bothers me is the internal port. You can't plug your front firewire port from your PC case to this card... Why? Because it is a female port like the 3 external ports.

Products sold by NCIXUS.com are covered under a limited 25-day DOA (dead-on-arrival) policy, from the original invoice date, and is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- ALL merchandise requires an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) issued by NCIXUS.com for return. RMA numbers are valid for 7-days with a small leeway for shipping times. Merchandise returned to us without a valid RMA number will be refused and shipped back to the customer at the customer's expense. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for testing and refunds to be processed.
- Returned merchandise must NOT be physically damaged, including damage due to improper installation or overclocking. This includes any physical alteration to the product, modifications not approved by the manufacturer, bent pins, etc. No returns, refunds or exchanges for any special order products, Notebooks, PDAs, Televisions, Retail Box Software, OEM Software, Computer Games, Video Games, DVDs, CDs, or any products marked as "no returns" or carries a similar description on the products' page. All products are eligible for original manufacturer's warranties. Please contact the manufacturer directly. All fees, including "shipping and handling", insurance coverage fees, and "Rapid Replacement" fees are non-refundable.
- Returns MUST include all original parts and packing materials and an NCIXUS.com RMA number, or the return will be rejected. NCIXUS.com reserves the right to refuse any returns or refunds for merchandise. DOA items may be returned within 25 days of ordering and may be subject to a 15% restocking fee at the discretion of NCIXUS.com.
- LCD monitors and other products with LCD displays (i.e.: notebooks, cameras, etc.) adheres to the dead-pixel policy that been established by most of the manufacturers. Any product with an LCD screen must be a minimum of 7 (seven) dead LCD pixels to be considered defective (DOA). Please contact the manufacturer of the product for additional warranty information if you receive a product with less than 7 dead pixels.
All product warranty coverage after 25-days will be handled directly by the product manufacturer. NCIXUS.com reserves the right to refuse any returns or refunds for merchandise.
