Tom's Hardware: Author's Opinion
It's always fun to play with the new gold standard of any product, and I'm pretty sure that the HR-03 will be the standard of comparison for VGA coolers until something better comes along. Until then, it'll be in my rig keeping my Radeon X1900 XTX nice and icy, th

I buy this cooler for my Gts but it seems that you have to buy the PLUS version to be able to fit it so I used it on my power color x1900xt 512 ans it worked very goo droping the stock temp of almost 10-15 degres it is very good and pretty silent comparated to the old blower that was a little used... anyway it is a great heat sink but it doesn't come with a fan you will have to buy one. Recommend it!

I used this heatsink to replace my stock fan (which died) on my radeon X1950XTX. I used to get 60C idle and 90-100C full load temperatures on my card (when the stock fan was working) now i get 40C with this cooler. I strapped a 92MM fan onto this heatsink and now i get 38C idle temps and less heat build up during full usages Appox 50-55C. Overclocking potential is huge now. Great buy :D

I bought this yesterday to go with my x1900xtx which was getting ridiculously hot. At idle it was 58-60C and under full load it was shooting up to 75C with the stock fan at 70% (temp measured by everest). Now it's idling at 40C and under full load it goes to the high 50's. Incredible! This was mated with a 100mm scythe kaze and it fit, even with the clips that were included. Overall this is by far the best heatsink you can buy, but it's a bit pricey and it doesn't come with a fan.

First off... this thing is very large. It uses up a full 3 pci slots (including the video card), 4 slots (including video card + a fan). I have a P5K-e, so this gave me just barely enough room to have my video card w/ a sound card.

This took my 8800 GTS super from 80 degrees down to 50. I attached a pretty loud fan, but it moves a lot of air.

After my switch to Vista Premium, I noticed that the cooling fan on my BFG 7900GT was running non-stop, as opposed to just when I was playing a game. And let me tell you, that fan iss LOUD. As my computer is close to my bed, and is constantly on, this was unnacceptable. Unable to get a fix, I turned to the HR-03 to cool down my GPU. I am currently running it passively, and it runs at the same temps as the stock HS! I'm adding a near-silent 92MM fan shortly, and cant wait for the results!

The installation wasn't too hard, but it was a bit hard to fit the heatsink on once the ramsink was attached on. It really depends which way you mount the heatsink though. Overall this heatsink works well. I'm running it passively for a silence, so I can't tell how good is the performance. But running it passively is working well for my 7950 GT KO.

This is a great VGA cooler for quiet PC. I upgrade from Zalman vf700, it is more quieter than vf700, since I can use a larger silent fan with HR-03.

Fanless: It will keep almost the same temp as stock cooler, but does show an increase of about 2°C which left my BuiltBy ATI X1900XTX warm enough to bake cookies with. Though, I'm sure if you have a case fan pushing directly through the fins it'd help (I don't though).

Stock HSF is pretty quiet until I enter any game heavy on graphics. This this thing with a nice quiet fan like the Cat is amazing. Matches nicely with my XP90 too.
