Comment: With its newly reduced price and great looking specifications, the Mushkin HP-580 is definitely high on many consumers’ wish lists. Unfortunately, after reviewing both the Mushkin HP-550 and the XP-650 power supplies, we had high expectations which this power supply simply failed to meet.

This PSU was about 2 inches longer then my Fortron 500W (not SLI capable) which caused me not to be able to use my 120mm top mount exchaust fan. Know that since its modular, the connectors add a bit of length. But its doing the job and for the price, its fantastic.       » READ MORE

This is a very well built power supply. It even comes with tie straps. The unit is quiet and light my case with a green led fine. Bue, the rail fusion led stays open when the computer is not ruuning : at night. it glows radioactive green! ;-)      » READ MORE

Well so far so good. This PSU is very nice looking, with fully sleeved modular cables. and mirror finish. There where some issues with DOA units, but I didn't get one. Tech reviews say that voltage regulation on the 12 volt rail isn't that stable, however I find no problems with mine. As with all electronic components from any manufacturer, you take a chance on build quality. This will power your overclocked Core 2 Duo and new Geforce 8800 gt, with plenty of juice to spare.      » READ MORE

I'm a bit worried about this PSU. We put together a couple of the 650W versions into Quad Core rigs and they have worked awesome, so I didn't hesitate to order three 580W versions for some of our other rigs.       » READ MORE

Bought this psu about a month ago to go with my new setup, so far no issues, looks pretty cool with the green glow. I like that it's modular, big step up from older psu's with extra power connectors everywhere. 580 watts of power should do it. I actually like the green LED on the back cause I turn off my computer at night and when I turn it back on I can just look behing the PC to see the green glow on the wall; lets me know the power switch is off or on....       » READ MORE

I havent really put this thing to anywhere near its limits but from what Ive seen it is a very suitable PSU. The modular wires allow for only what you need and not what you dont so the case looks very neat and clean, especially with all the cables being wrapped. The green LED 120mm fan goes great with my case that already has 2 green led fan but if your concerned about colour, maybe pick up the mushkin 500hp.      » READ MORE

Well, this is my fifth aftermarket psu. Previous ones were fsp, tisonic, antec, and corsair. This is almost upthere with the 620watt corsair. Both are very quiet, and stable with plenty of power. This comes in at around 2/3 the price of the corsair. Great price.       » READ MORE

I used this PSU as a replacement for a 500W Ultra power supply that went flakey following a power sag. I initially had some installation challenges, as the fan grill prevented me from installing this in the upper cage of my Coolermaster Stacker case. Simply removing the grill solved this issue.       » READ MORE

Overall I am very satisfied with this product, it looks great, doesn't run very hot. It does what I need it to do, play high performance games without a hitch. I couldnt have asked for any better.      » READ MORE

I'm mostly impressed with my first "real" PSU. Previously, i've just stuck with whatever PSU comes with the case i like. This PSU is quiet, attractive, and has great modular, sleeved cables. I also like the green led that lights up the interior of my case. I only wish it came with some connectors to hook up case fans since my motherboard only has one.      » READ MORE
