I like it. it is xp, with a media center. it has a great interface, if you use the MCE certified hardware. I live in a remote northern canada town, and I still found that there was a listing for our local cable supplier. that rocked!

he price is right and it's right here in Canada. XP MCE is getting harder to find and your only option for O/S for media center is Windows Vista. I also have Vista Home Premium on another machine and found the frequent shutdown/freezes to be more than annoying. Having said that still working to get the Hauppauge 150 MCE LP card working with XP MCE 2005. I've ordered another TV tuner card so will see if it works better. The install process was a bit confusing as well as I had to find a bunch of other drivers for my machine that were not on the original XP MCE disks.

Didn't really feel like participating in the public beta of vista. We'll see how it goes once XP SP3 and vista SP1 (finally) get released.

Bought this for a friend, and installed it for her. It has a ton of features designed for a media center and fits her needs perfectly, would recommend this for anyone that uses their computer for digital media purposes.

A friend of mine used MCE for quite some time, so I got to explore it. Personally, I just didn't dig MCE; in my opinion, the Media Center aspect of this OS was kinda puffed up a little too much. Between this and XP Pro, my choice would be XP Pro. My friend loved it, but eventually left it for Vista, but that's just him. It's a pretty cool OS with lots of Media Center features, the stability of XP, and a new interface. So, if you want XP, and want something that XP Pro doesn't offer, give MCE a shot - you might actually like it.

I bought this for my new system. I didn't want to get vista so I decided to go with MCE instead. So far I'm glad I went with it. When I decide to add media cards, having MCE will be handy. I also like the look of MCE, it's pretty much the same just a different color scheme, but it's a nice color scheme. Overall I'm happy with it so far.

Definitely the Windows XP to get if you don't want to get Vista. Handles everything very well, and haven't had many problems with driver issues, hardware recognizing, etc.
