I have this sitting on a Q9450 and love it. It was originally on a pentium d 805 which was overclocked through the roof and did a great job keeping it cool. the q9450 is running at 3.2 ghz and this thing is doing a wonderful job, at idle between 38 C and 40 C and under load it never goes over 48 C. It runs quiet, come with great TP. All around a great cooler.

I was a little worried after I ordered this that it would be too big for my case, since I bought a antec p190 with the "big boy" fan on the side panel, it turns out this heatsink just barely touches the fins on it. I would remove the "big boy" but thats one of the reasons i bought the case, for its cooling features. The installation was very simple, didn't have any problems. It clearly stands out in comparison to stock cooling or any others.

Crazy....awesome cpu cooler. Completed my E8400, eVGA 750i FTW, eVGA 9600GT OC, 2 gig Crucial 8500, all in a Antec 900 case. CRAZY!!!!!!! Looking at NVMonitor (not sur ehow accurate) but it says my CPU is 23 celcius, system 22 celcius and GPU 29 celcius. Tight fight in a Antec 900 but is definalty still do able, just watch how you run the Zalman's install brackets, and as well the power cable connecting from it needs ot be mounted out of the way of that big 200mm fan on top and as well the Zalman heatblads as well. After seeing the eVGA 750i FTW motherbaord in my hands, i realized how big the included heatsink/fan were and worried the Zalman would be to close, but nope, roughly an inch in between the 2. All in all, simply the best cpu cooler out there.

I had one of the cnp9500's on my last system and it was great so I tried this one for my new build. No complaints. I can change the fan speeds through asus probe 2 on my mobo to go from full tilt to super quiet and in between for a good combo of cooling and noise reduction. The thermal paste included has a white-out brush-like applicator to apply it which is also a nice touch.

I wasn't too keen on looking at a variety of coolers and looking up reviews for which ones best. All the main good coolers will most likely vary around 3 degrees difference. I got this one cause the people at tomshardware used it for their OC test. True enough, its been good to me ever since I installed it. I got a Q6600 OCed to 3.0Ghz and the highest temp i will ever reach is 44 degrees celcius even with the fan only running at 2000RPM. I had second thoughts bout getting different heat sinks but theres really no point cause this one works perfectly fine.

There are other coolers that do a better job than this but don't look nearly as sweet. If you don't mind paying for the bling, its definitely worth it. It's big, quiet, cools well and looks awesome, especially in a windowed case.
