This drive does not work and the manufacturer will not replace it. Apparently, it is pretty common for these drives to get a "Delayed Write Failure". They keep saying the problem is on my end but I tested it on multiple computers and the result is the same. Basically what happens is if the drive is writing anything for an extended period of time (such as a large) file. It will end up locking up and then it will freeze Windows.

Got this when it was on rebate and it was a great deal. It's fast and easy to use. Once you get some 3rd party back up software going its a great way to secure your files.

I bought this for extra storage space and so far it has worked perfectly. It's portable and easy to use on different machines. There are no considerable weaknesses and I would recommend this for anyone looking for an external drive.

The drive only works for me in USB 1.1 mode, making it excrutiatingly slow with transfer rates of around 1 MB/s. I e-mailed their tech support weeks ago but they have yet to reply despite their claim of a reply within 3 business days. The warranty also only lasts one year, whereas most manufacturers give 3-5 years.

Bought a second unit for customer after playing with the first one I bought. This unit seems very solid & the one touch back-up makes it easy for people to do a regular back-up.

The styling is excellent. It works as advertised although I have never used the back-up software so can't comment on that. The ability to shut this thing off so it doesnt power on with your computer is great. I really wish Seagate would hurry up and do the same. The LED is ugly as sin. The blue is pleasent but having the red come on when its accessing the data makes for this weird ugly blue/pink/red combo which is just hideous. The Light is also way to bright for a bedroom setting but thankfully as I said it can be powered down. I would give it a 4 but the on/off switch and Seagates lack of one make this one of the best.

Products sold by NCIXUS.com are covered under a limited 25-day DOA (dead-on-arrival) policy, from the original invoice date, and is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- ALL merchandise requires an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) issued by NCIXUS.com for return. RMA numbers are valid for 7-days with a small leeway for shipping times. Merchandise returned to us without a valid RMA number will be refused and shipped back to the customer at the customer's expense. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for testing and refunds to be processed.
- Returned merchandise must NOT be physically damaged, including damage due to improper installation or overclocking.
