xp still the best os out there. had xp pro sp2 32bit version and loved it. went with xp pro 64bit version and not surprised, still the best. wanted to find an os that will let me use more ram without conflict and still have the stallbility to run the latest games. using a p5e3 delux wifi asus MB, a quad core cpu, bfg 8800 gtx video card and ocz ddr3 1800 mhz ram. kick ass!!didn't want to make the jump to vista because of the installbility. if you want an os that runs smooth, then xp pro is the way to go.

This is the only 64 bit version of Windows XP. Due to this, there is not much sopport out there for this version and you may be hard pressed to find appropriate drivers. With Vista 64bit already here, though, drivers are coming out full-force. If you don't want to make the upgrad to Vista, but still want to rum more than 3GB of RAM, then XP 64bit Pro is the choice for you.

Can't say much about it, but it works great and functions well. Great for users who want to run more memory but don't want to use Vista. Quick and easy install with SP2 already included, drivers and everything should be mostly mature by now or at least seem to be.

Definitely going to XP for next upcoming years, with Vista still not too user-friendly with compatible drivers for outside products, XP is definitely the OS to choose.

With Windows Vista being so buggy and issues with sound card and video card drivers giving horrid results and with folks thinking they might go to Vista 64, suddenly XP 64 Pro becomes the better alternative, with capability in both 32 bit and 64 bit environments.
