Some people plug it in and add the software and away it goes...I wasn't so lucky.

Great drive, plays all my Dvd,HD Dvd and blu-ray. The software is sketchy today still, at least in vista some disc must be put in a few times before it finally figures out that i have all the updates. This isnt the drives problem tho i think its a power dvd problem.

This is a great product for the price at which it is offered. I've been using it with my 58" panasonic viera plasma and Denon 2308 receiver with no problems, HDMI and optical SPDIF. Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs both play flawlessly

I bought this product just to play blu-ray movies with my sharp aquos 46" tv. I would re-evaluate your computer spec first before buying this product because according to Cyberlink : cpu minimum are not powerful enough to play blu-ray movies and not smooth enough like my amd 3800+x2 939.(HTPC).I would recommend a PS3 if you don`t want to buy a new PC. However , latest PC with intel core 2 quad or amd phenom won`t have any problem playing blu-ray disc.All in all, a great product .

I installed the drive without any problem and everything is working fine so far (HD 3870 and Core 2 Duo). The hi-def picture quality on my 22" LCD is fantastic. Another great thing about this drive is it is extremely quiet. However I found that my old PowerDVD 5 decoded regular dvds better then the bundled PowerDVD 8.

Using with an AMD 870 motherboard and a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4050E playback is nice and smooth. Bundled software seems all-right, though others prefer third party. SATA interface is nice, and a sata power converter is included - nice touch.

Great player, even though HD DVD is dead, the discs are very cheap and still decent quality. Using winDVD9 this players runs extremely well, definately a must buy for any HDPC.
