Swapped in a duorb and now this puppy runs 45 load tops. Actually traded straight up for this for my diamond 3870. I loved that thing, was much cooler/quieter, nice features.. 8800gt is definitely a little stronger, not much though. But i like to try hardware and get in get out. not much else to say, 8800gt one of the most (if not the most) groundbreaking cards ever.

Ive owned litterally 20 videocards in the last 2 years. Trying something new whenever possible. I decided to give this a try. Had to upgrade to a 650w PSu to do so just to make sure i had enough. Installed and everything. Booted Am3 to test it out. Scored amazingly low. Then booted up Crysis. Loaded. Set it all up and tried to run it and the whole tower shut off. Thought i fried the psu. Tested and works good. When i remove the GT it boots up. Once i plug the card in nothing. Like its not even plugged in.

I waited a long time to buy a video card that was a sensible price but not obsolete the second you install it. These cards (8800gt's) might just help with the declining PC Gamer numbers as they are priced appropriately and can handle the current games. You will likely want to manually set the fan at about %48-%50 to give a good balance of cooling and noise.

Great card, especially for the sale price. I was going to go with 8600 but I decided on this as its only 60 dollars more than one of the better 8600 and the performance increase from 8600 to 8800 is worth way more than that! Runs everything on high without any fps lag (so far). My only real misgiving is the fact that because of the position of everything on the mainboard my chipset cooler (fanless heatsink) is literally 1mm from the actual GPU fan so its like a hot metal schmorgasborg! I'm a little worried actually because the cipset heatsink gets SUPER HOT (and so does this card).

Well this card is fast with default clocks (625,1800). My card overclocks to 740,2200 and that impressed me. I haven't touch the fan speed either to get those clocks. I bought this card for $200 after MIR and I think that is one of the best deals out there. I guess the only beef I'd have with it is that it runs Hot but that is the obvious trade off for using a single slot cooler.

Wow best price for great card, I changed to the Artic Cooling S1 and run 700mhz core, 1728 Shader, and 2000mhz Memory without a problem and runs at 48 degrees max load. It has changed FSX into a new experience. Crysis runs max settings without a stutter. This card will keep up with the new games for a few years now.

This card is great in a well cooled system, however it overheats too much for any SFF or small case. I would suggest getting an aftermarket HSF such as the Thermalright HR-03 GT, which was made to fit this board, or getting a HR-11 for the back of this card.

625MHz core clock and 1800MHz memory clock. 56.3GB/s bandwidth. Overall a very good card at its price. Runs a bit hotter than the average card so need to pay attention on the case cooling. Can handle decent OC (up to 700MHz core for mine), not for extreme OC. Temperature runs hotter than average card but can handle newer games really well. Really recommended for people that doesn't have the budget to get 8800GTS or 8800GTX but still wanna experience the eye candy. Thank you NCIX for fast shipping (within 48 hours) and thanks for BFG AND NCIX for this great deal. This review was modfied by poster r 12-18-07 09:36 PM
