Comment: The Radeon HD 3850 is a bit slower than its more expensive sibling and as such ends up being tremendous competition for current mid-range cards like the GeForce 8600 GTS or Radeon HD 2600 XT

Bought This Video Card To Replace An Older Radeon 1300, And There Is A Marked Improvement In Performance. For The Price Of $99.99, I Could Not Go Wrong In Purchasing This Card, Even Though I Had To Order An Accellero Heatsink For It, Since It Does Run Warm At Both Idle And Load.       » READ MORE

I'm almost considering returning or fleabaying this card, the drivers from the 8.1 cat series on up to the 8.49betas I snagged from the net are horrible. I run a gigabyte ga-ma78-s2h board[F3 bios] with the onboard 780G[hd3200] gpu built into the Northbridge... it runs more stable by far.       » READ MORE

At the time I purchased it, it was the best bang for the buck in terms of 3D performance as I was considering the 8800GT. The deciding factor was that the 8800GT wouldn't work in my Shuttle SN25P.       » READ MORE

Bought as an alternative to a 8800GT for a customer, I have 3870's myself and these are right up there. The card ran quiet and cooler than expected. Ran all the games that were thrown at it at a very reasonable speed, and the image quality was perfect. They may not be as fast as the 8800GT or 9600, but they are still a viable option and are plenty capable.      » READ MORE

Bought this for my budget back up system I like to have when I'm working, modding my main system. I was very pleased with its performance. With my overclocked E2180 t 3.2Ghz I was able to score over 10,000 in 3dmark06. Excellent for a budget card with kick. I would suggest it to anyone who doesn't want to spend too much, and wants to enjoy the latest games.       » READ MORE

I upgraded my system recently from an AGP support graphics mobo to a new PCI one. When upgrading a system so completely like I did I was left with very little room for a video card int he budget, because I had to also buy a new processor and ram. This card is light years ahead of my old Geforce 6600. My view on this product may not be as comprehensive as some others because my old system was quite slow by modern standards, and my new system may be aswell I don't know. What I do know is that buying this card at this price for the performance gain it gave me was an easy one. If your looking for top end performance look to the 3870 but if your on a budget and every penny counts this is money well spent. It will provide you with atleast 2 years of good gaming use in which time you could save to buy something a little quicker. If your a casual gamer or a gamer on a budget buy this card you won't be disappointed.      » READ MORE

I originally got my first 3850 over a month ago and was quite pleased with. While this card is not the fastest on the market the amount of money to put into purchase it versus the performance you get is really good. Especially when you team 2 of them up in crossfire. The other advantage this has over the more powerful cards is that the cooling solution is only single slot so you don't lose a slot on the back of your case for cooling. I would recommend this card for anyone on a tight gaming budget.      » READ MORE

The card is cheap and performance was very good in the games I tried. However the fan always runs at low speed no matter what is the temperature or what I'm doing, so the card get as high as a constant 92°C while gaming (in a very good ventilated case). I tried to tweak the fan with some softwares I found on the net and now the firmware is buggy, the fan randomly starts spinning like crazy. So I recommand waiting for a fix from ATI.      » READ MORE

Overall have been pleasantly surprised with this card. I was waiting for the 3870 to finally arrive, but couldn't, so I went with this card. No regrets so far.      » READ MORE

Realistically this card is a steal compared to last generations price to performance ratio(shakes my X1950Pro for less $$). I'm only running 1440x900 so the 256mb ram is not to big an issue for me. Using Rivatuner to control fan speed, find it keeps the card cooler.       » READ MORE
