The NF-P12 has been specifically developed for applications such as CPU coolers that demand superior pressure and airflow performance. Thanks to psychoacoustic optimizations like the Vortex-Control Notches, the new SCD drive system and Noctua's premium-grade SSO-Bearing, the NF-P12 achieves exceptional quietness and long-term stability.
We principally recommend the NF-P12 for the following applications: - CPU coolers with tight fin-spacing
- Water-cooling radiators with tight fin-spacing
- Power supplies
- Storage solutions
- Cases with very restrictive fan grills and filters
- All applications with significant obstruction to airflow
 | Pressure-optimized Nine-Blade Design Specifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers, water-cooling radiators or cases with tight fan grills, the NF-P12 provides superior pressure and airflow performance.
| | Vortex-Control Notches Psychoacoustic optimizations like the staggered Vortex-Control Notches make the NF-P12 surprisingly quiet.
| | Smooth Commutation Drive The NF-P12's new drive system reduces torque variations and thereby ensures improved running smoothness.
| | Self-stabilizing oil-pressure bearing Noctua's well proven SSO-Bearing technology guarantees supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability.?/ |

I currently have this as the exhaust fan in my Antec NSK3480. It comes with a very nice bundle and makes little to noise at 600RPM. At higher speeds of 700 to 900RPM, it makes throbbing noise. At 900 to 1300RPM, it is definitely too loud for any users that want a quiet environment. Therefore, you are recommended to use the included 7V resistor. I would have preferred that Noctua include a 5V resistor as well. A pretty good buy, though for the price it's better to wait for it on sale.

I bought this fan to go with my Thermalright Black-120 heatsink for my Intel Core 2 Duo (E8400). It's the best fan I have ever used! It's sooo quiet and cools very well.

Really Quiet fan and price isn't all that bad. Goes great with my Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer Cpu cooler(The best rated cpu heat sink on the market) and E8400.

I bought this to find out what all the hoopla is about. So far on a Xigmatek HDT-1284 cooler there isn't really any difference between the stock fan and the Noctua. I will be trying it out in a variety of different applications to see where it works best.

Pleased with the sound of the fans, and liked that it came with additional accessories to ensure they were quiet. I just wish the fan didn't look so ugly, but inside a case u'll rarely see them.

very great air flow i added 3 of these to a thermol chill rad (120.3) lowered my temps 2 c compared to 3 1200 rpm yate looms at 1000 rpm , the noctua's are more quiet at full speed then the yate looms are at 1000 rpm

I really love these fans. Before switching over to these I was getting subpar temperatures with a bunch of Slipstreams in my CM690. Not to mention the noise from those slipstreams.

Gets the job done, noctua are well know to cool heatsink & case, but they are not cheap, most people prefer to just take some Scythes instead for half the price.
