This thing worked great in every thing I threw at it. I still run XP, but there are Vista only options that light up if you use vista.

i have had this for a while now and they are like the best iv ever had, good for price. and i would probably buy the d2x is these broke, they do require 1 4pin floppy connecter to work though.

When I installed this, I instantly noticed the greatness over my onboard sound even with my middle-low end X-540 5.1speakers. Games instantly sounded better. I noticed effects that were not previously apparent. Music sounded fuller. EAX emulation seemed to do its job, besides on Bioshock where I could not get the patch that ASUS issued to work.

For 90 $, you can't go wrong with this card. What a difference with onboard sound. It's my first sound card and I can say that I am not disapointed. It sounds awesome with my Klipsch Promedia 2.1. The only weakness is that it required extra power so you need a 4 pins floppy power connector. There is only one on my PSU so I had to unplug my floppy but since I almost never use it, it's not that bad.

overall this sound card is the best for games, music, you name it, and for a low price compared to cards that offer similiar features. also works well (creative...). though it can be a hassle if you switch between speakers and headphones often, that's my only problem with it

I have a HTPC setup and I was using my onboard sound for months because I was under the impression most onboard has improved and is good enough. However, this is not tue. What a difference!, Huge. I actually think that my PC runs much smoother especially the media center. The drivers work great on vista. This card blows away the highest X-fi card in my opinion and I have had a X-fi Fatality. Don't think twice about upgrading your onboard to this...beats it no problems.
