Go to the next level of multi-core performance.

Intel Core i7 processors deliver an incredible breakthrough in quad-core performance and feature the latest innovations in processor technologies:

Intel® Turbo Boost technology maximizes speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performance to match your workload—more performance when you need it the most.²

Intel® Hyper-Threading technology enables highly threaded applications to get more work done in parallel. With 8 threads available to the operating system, multi-tasking becomes even easier.³

Intel® Smart Cache provides a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem. Optimized for industry leading multi-threaded games.

Intel® QuickPath Interconnect is designed for increased bandwidth and low latency. It can achieve data transfer speeds as high as 25.6 GB/sec with the Extreme Edition processor.

Integrated memory controller enables three channels of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, resulting in up to 25.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth. This memory controller's lower latency and higher memory bandwidth delivers amazing performance for data-intensive applications.

Intel® HD Boost significantly improves a broad range of multimedia and compute-intensive applications. The 128-bit SSE instructions are issued at a throughput rate of one per clock cycle, allowing a new level of processing efficiency with SSE4 optimized applications.

I got a new pc with this cpu recently and man its fast. It also overclocks so easy! I played around in the bios for 10 minutes and just for fun i overclocked to 4.4ghz (ya, 4.4) and i managed to post and boot to windows in 2 attempts. Zomfg! It keeps surprising me on just how few volts its taking me to do it too! Awsome cpu!

Nothing more to say. Except that you really want to get the d0 stepping, because when these things become obsolete the c0 will be worth nothing and the d0 will give you a VISIBLE performance boost, when pushed at max      » READ MORE

My first Intel build in 2 years. This chip is everything they say it is - fast and easily clocked to 3.4GHz (with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus). Performance is outstanding with decent thermals that don't require outrageous amounts of airflow. Pretty happy with this piece.      » READ MORE

There's multiple versions of the i7 architechture but this one is the best bang for the buck. The high end chips (965, 975) do have unlocked multipliers but as far as stock speed they still only go up to 3.2GHz at a cost of $1000. You can get this chip up to 3.6-3.8 reliably for daily use for the cost of a good heatsink. To me that's a great deal.       » READ MORE

The i7 920 needs no introduction. The D0 revision will overclock easier at lower voltages and hence generate less heat.      » READ MORE

i picked it up about a month ago and pair it with my p6t se mobo. it performs amazingly even before the oc while generating reasonable amount of heat. the 1366 socket is the starting of the next generation cpus, so recommend to switch over :). havent had any issues with the cpu.       » READ MORE

It was my first time purchasing my own parts to build a pc. I chose the i7 920 because it was cheaper than the higher end models and the only difference were the clock speed. So I saved money by buying the i7 920 and just overclocking it.      » READ MORE

I got my new PC since a while now and all i can say is that this CPU is amazing. He will take any overclock you'll throw at him if you got the cooling to keep temp acceptable.       » READ MORE

I have overclocked it to 4ghz at 1.27v on air, temps were a little high at 53c idle 78c full load. This chip is a beast and will easily overclock.      » READ MORE

Nice CPU with good overclocking potential. I did OC a C0 before and the volt + temperature of this stepping is better. The problem wiht x58 platform is the p55. The x58 mobo are more ex^pensive and the need for triple channel ram make it even more expensive.       » READ MORE
