As i said, its an ide drive, but i think that any one is bying this today is to replace an old drive on an old pc. As i did: compared to the old defect maxtor 15gig 5200rpm, this one WD80gb is Great. Faster, silent, and as some other have reported, had no issue for via266 chipset to recognize the drive.

Good drive, quiet, garunteed comptibility w/ older systems. Hooked it up and it ran -- no issues. I'd had drive like this in the past and they have provem very reliable.

Got this hard drive for a test build. Only thing I have against this hard drive is that its noisy when you are searching through files. You can hear the clicking sound a bit. The hard drive runs at a cooler temperature then some other hard drives i've had.

Been using this drive for 2 months, I use it as a image drive. Had no problems to date. It is no SATA drive but I needed it for an old P3 system, and it gets the job done. It is a little loud, but nothing compared to what I have heard from using other Hard Drives.

Great little drive, using it in a older computer system. Needed to junk the old bigfoot drive that was in there. This is definitely a good drive for whatever you may need it for, no problems to date.

Overall good drive, would recommend to anyone who needs a stable 80 GB HD. The 7200 RPM is standard on modern hard drives and a must for heavy HD user. Probably worth it to consider larger ones if you need them, cents per GB is much lower on bigger HDs.

Products sold by NCIXUS.com are covered under a limited 25-day DOA (dead-on-arrival) policy, from the original invoice date, and is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- ALL merchandise requires an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) issued by NCIXUS.com for return. RMA numbers are valid for 7-days with a small leeway for shipping times. Merchandise returned to us without a valid RMA number will be refused and shipped back to the customer at the customer's expense. - Returned merchandise must NOT be physically damaged, including damage due to improper installation or overclocking. - LCD monitors and other products with LCD displays (i.e.: notebooks, cameras, etc.) adheres to the dead-pixel policy that been established by most of the manufacturers. Any product with an LCD screen must be a minimum of 7 (seven) dead LCD pixels to be considered defective (DOA). Please contact the manufacturer of the product for additional warranty information if you receive a product with less than 7 dead pixels.
