The Wireless-G WRT54G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G and Wireless-B devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4- port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

The router works fine for low load, but when you have any serios amount of data going through it, it locks up and needs a reboot. I have to reboot it almost everyday for it to work properly. Unreliable router. If you just need for internet and wireless, then it's fine. Otherwise get something else,, like the WRT54GL or a Wireless N router.

For the longest time, these were the defacto standard of home wireless routers. Version 5 represented a move to the VxWorks OS, and version 7 moved to the Atheros chipset. Unfortunately, all these changes limited the options of 3rd party firmware like Tomato and DD-WRT. It's good for somebody who just wants to be up and running, but given that the WRT54GL is practically the same price and supports all the 3rd party goodies... which is really handy.. I have trouble even giving 3 stars. It's good, but the GL (which is equivalent to a version 4 unit) just offers a lot more.

Had this router for a few years now, with barely any problems. Both wire and wireless is very reliable from my personal experience. Simple web interface allows tweaking of many useful options. Recommended.

I've had this router for a long time now and would recommend it. Other then needing the occasional reset it's fairly rock solid and straight forward to use.

Was bought for me by a friend as a gift, have had 0 connection drops since setting it up. An amazing product, and very secure. Definitely worth buying if you're doing wireless networking.

This router is great for everyday needs, even gaming and file sharing, keeping a stable speed. Ping is constant while playing online, connecting to other computers is fast. The range is decent, but it loses quality not so far from the router. Overall a good product for wireless networking.

This is a very good router, for me it goes from Gaming to everyday downloads, and just surfing the web. Great for the Family. My router is upstairs in the opposite corner and i still get a great signal... of course i am using the proper reciever. i just wish that the thing was no such a pain to install, but after that you get the hang of it... the cisco press button makes things so much simpler... just press the button on the router go to the computer and press next. and your good to go.... would DEFINITELY purchase this again

I got this router for over a year. Home networking, wireless and xbox live are all easy to setup. Highly recommended and I would buy another one if mine breaks down.

This is a very decent router, considering the price. It's extremely easy to set up - I remember it took me less than 10 minutes to set up my network. Signal strength is pretty good, so is speed. Linksys's products are always of good quality. This router, however, may not be very reliable; very rarely does it not disconnect at least once every day or two. This is still a good product, but I would most definitely recommend the WRT54GL over this one, simply because it owns this router. :)
