Automatic file backup for all their PC and Mac® computers means their files are protected. And it's all stored on a home or office network, not a remote server, so there's no mysterious location of their data. It's more than network storage, it's a personal cloud.

Wow! Great little NAS drive. For larger files it gets around 90-110MB/s, which really is quite fast for NAS storage. I assume its a WD Green drive. I got it literally for the same price as a bare 6TB drive. One big thin I noticed after copying TB's of files to it was how well ventilated it is. Looks to be passive cooling, but cool air is drawn in through the rear and exhausted out the top, and it does a pretty decent job of cooling. And its a really quiet drive. Right away my home network seen it and I like how there are picture, video and music folders already made, so you just need to add the files you want to be on your home DLNA server and it just works for sharing. I'm pretty sure this is standard though. After owning many NAS enclosures over the years, this as fast as it gets and for the price of a bare drive, one can not go wrong. For me personally this is not so much a backup drive, its more of a sharing server than anything, there is a ton of room for file sharing for everyone in the household. (Read More)
