A small number of AMD Athlon X4 860K processor-in-a-box (PIB) products were shipped between July and October 2014 with an incorrect definition label affixed to the product packaging. This label incorrectly stated the CPU base and boost frequencies as 3.4GHz / 3.9GHz instead of 3.7GHz/4.0GHz. AMD’s warranty for end consumers is not affected.

I have had this little CPU for over 2 years now, got it on sale for $85 from NCIX... Generally speaking it seems to be $10 more on sale 2 years later. Its in my HTPC with a GTX970, honestly it rocks pretty good. Generally speaking it games very similarly to my 4930K+GTX1080 setup. Sure one could argue certain benchmarks or games at highest settings. But generally speaking to do 60fps at 1080P, it rocks pretty hard. There are only 2 in your face things that bring this CPU to its knees, advanced PhysX and SSAO, both very CPU intensive. But generally speaking with the odd exception of certain in game settings, most games can actually be maxed out. I bought it because it was cheap and had 4 cores/threads. Honestly I would consider this the bare minimum for a CPU. I waterblock everything, this little CPU has a max voltage of 1.5v and 4.5ghz and maxes out around 55 degrees centigrade with a 240mm rad and a GTX970 on a single loop, that's not bad. (Read More)

I have had this CPU for a while now, overall I like the CPU, but the temps get quite high and that cause the PC to crash. (Read More)

A good budget choice for those looking for a quad core that is not intel. Would not recommend to anyone who is looking for more performance though. Nevertheless, it has been running well in my machine for 1.5 years and I haven't had any major problems with it. (Read More)
