Ugly cables
|
It's hard to find another solid modular PSU at this price ($59.99 and then $25 manufacturer rebate which I'm still waiting on), comes with 2 of each plug. The cables are a little ugly though (yellow/black/red mesh) but that's a personal preference thing.

built my first computer with this, 600w leaves me with some space to upgrade other hardware. it's been a couple months now, if noise was ever a problem with power supplies then this one wouldn't be a problem.
now i'm positive that it can run my 7770, heck i could probably do two.
overall a very good product i don't know if it's the best of the best since it's my first but 5 stars

Great for non-extreme updates. I got a GTX 560 Ti and it needed a minimum of 600w to run. So i upgraded from my standard 300w stock one, and it worked the wires that came with it were great, helped keep it organized and my system ran smoothly. no noise what-so-ever.

Not FULLY modular. The 20/24 pin connector was not modular, but it wasn't a big deal for me.

Short Cables, Coil Whine,
|
Bought this power supply a little less than a month ago. The Power Supply started making a supercharged electrical sound. The same sound you could get if you put two wires together and created a spark (not your typical power supply whine) Anyways, I contacted OCZ and requested an RMA. Will go with Corsair next time.

semi modular quiet has nice feel to it
|
It has an 8 pin and a 4 pin cpu cable hard wired to unit instead of having a 4+4 pin power connector. One of the molex power connectors is too bent to use.
|
Great reliable psu. Have never had any issues with it and the option to not have all the cables connected really helps keep things out of the way when you are putting your computer together. This psu would be perfect if it had slightly longer cables and the cpu cables were also modular.

Modular power supply at a great price!
|
8 pin CPU power cable was to short to reach around the after market CPU cooler. Would recommend buying an extension for this cable. Also found that the power cables provided for the SDD was upside down, I think the power supply may be built to mount in the top of the case.
|
This PSU is quite and packed with power. The 8 pin CPU was short but after adding an extension it works perfectly. This was my first build but I found some of the power cables to be upside down, and needed to be bend over 180 to connect the way I wanted.

This is my second OCZ power supply. It's very quiet, fo far not a single issue with this unit nor with my other OCZ ps ( i have it for a year now). Used it for a budget multimedia PC with the possibility for a bit of gaming and 600W is enough in my opinion. OCZ makes quality power supplies these days. Got it on sale for 60$ and there was also 10$ MIR so it's a pretty good deal.

I primarily purchased this for the modular nature of the wiring. I have 6 hds and need to manage my wiring better. For two years now, this has been a reliable and quiet PS. I would highly recommend it, but would like to add a precaution that other model of OCZ PS have reliability issue.

Modular! 1 PCI-e 6-pin & 1 PCI-e 6+2-pin ATX 4-pin & EPS 8-pin
|
ATX 4-pin & EPS 8-pin, I think it should have a 4+4, eliminate an unnecessary extra. Fan is much noisier than expected at idle. Short cables, listen to those with this issue.
|
I bought this in a sale for a build I have been planning for a while. It is a great product, does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have barely been able to put a 50% load onto it though (going by the watt-meter it is plugged into), so I do need to try and stress it someday to see how noisy it gets.
My PSU fan makes an odd tick sound when it idles too low. This is a disappointment to me, I should search around and see who else had this issue. Maybe it is something OCZ can fix.
Short cables is a common complaint and I should have heeded that warning. I needed to get a 4-pin extension cable in order for the cable to reach stress free in the Fractal Arc MIDI case.
So I will only knock one start off for the fan, seeing as the short cables were well "documented".

Quiet Modular
|
Cables are slightly short SATA power plugs are oriented for top mount
|
It's quiet, modular, and includes meshed cables - all contribute to a general appearance of quality. My only gripe is that it's not clear that it is more suitable for top mounting. Bottom mounted in a Fractal Design R3 mid-tower case, the main 24 pin and the EPS 8 pin cables are slightly short, preventing routing behind the mobo. The SATA power plugs are also oriented for top mounting and require an awkward doubling back if bottom mounted which, again, may leave the cable slighty short for the best appearance.

Slightly short cables
|
Great price over boxing week ($30 after MIR). Been running fine for a month now. It's also nice and quiet and looks great if you have a window case. It's modular as well so you'll save a lot of room in your case if you don't use all the cables. Only downside is that the cables are a little on the short side. In a mid tower case with a fairly large graphics card it just barely reaches the 4 pin power connector at the top of the motherboard.

- Does its job with no problem
|
- Fan grill
|
This is my second OCZ PSU I bought (my first one was the old OCZ Modstream 450) since I had no issue with the first one (except low wattage) and decided to stick with OCZ. I have this for over a year now and it's still working without a flaw.
My only gripe with this is with the fan grill. My computer case has metal 'tabs' to hold the PSU in place. I had to unscrew the grill as it protrudes out, and displace it a bit to mount it to my case properly.

This power supply is massive, but excellent at the same time. Feels like it was built by the military. Modular cabling allows for minimum cables, which reduces the mess inside the tower. The cable lacing is a great touch. Fan is extremely quiet.

Seems big, cables types included, pointless instruction manual
|
Seemed like a good deal for a modular 600W PS. ($50 AR) The previous one I had, a coolermaster extreme (or whatever) 550W, apparently would blow hot air into the case! Because as soon as I put it in, my video card cooler would spin up--much louder than it was before. Then with this new OCZ everything is back to normal. It could just have been my configuration however (antec P160 case, large fanless ninja cpu cooler, GTS250). In any case, the OCZ seems like twice the power supply for the money.
I had to use all but one of the cable jacks on the PS, just 'cause I only needed 1 or 2 of the connectors on each cable. Maybe they could have cables with multiple connector types... Speaking of which, this unit comes with a zipper CASE for your extra cables! This certainly is a gamer's PS...recommended.

Fantastic, stable, solidly built.
8-pin ATX 12V plug is a plus - the cheaper StealthXStreams only have a 4-pin plug.
|
Efficency is about 79-82% at 300-500W load. That's pretty solid, but mediocre compared to today's 80+ Bronze/Silver/Gold PSU's, which have to have a minimum of 80% efficiency and usually are in the mid to high 80's.
It would be nice (but kind of unnecessary) to have more 6-pin PCIe plugs. My Enermax Modu82+ 525W had 2x 6+2 pin connectors and 2x 6 pin connectors. Nonetheless, I've never needed more than a 6-pin plus 8-pin connector.
|
Awesome power supply, and modular to boot! This PSU used to be $100+!
The Modular cables are an absolute boon - it makes cable management much easier, and you often won't need to use all of the cables.

For $30 after rebate it's a great deal! Very quiet, plenty of power, modular cables, large fan, cable length (I have small case)
|
Cable length may be issue if I wanted to use in a larger case with full size Atx board and PS installed in the bottom.
|
Cables were more than long enough to reach everything in the Acer case I put it in. Moduler cables ensured that I don't have extra wires hanging around in the case as it is small. Great for a budget build, very quiet, and it looks nice in the case. I had $300 budget to ugrade my son's comp and this should run anything he might want to add for some time to come. Very quiet! I was able to add a better cpu cooler, a gtx 450, extra 500 gig Hd, a couple of fans and a card reader. Very happy with purchase, would buy again.

It works. Its powering my i7 with gtx460 fine. The unit iteslf is pretty nicely finished with no gimmcks, and modular is great for keeping things tidy if you don't have so many things to power. My only grudge is that I have the PSU bottom mounted, and the ATX cable's are just enough length to reach my mobo, so I can't really tuck or hide the cables.

Because of the pin configuration being the wrong way though, they are designed to connect from top to bottom.
Pretty irritating if you want clean cabling.

Super Quiet, even at full loads. Modular cable and 80 Plus certified. Cables are labeled. Powerful.
|
Only 2 PCI-E cables, 4 would have been better. The cables are a bit short. Only 3 years warranty. It's solid enough for 5 years.
|
I have an Antec case and antec likes to have their PSU cage at the bottom of the case. That means the fan must face upward, hence cables coming from the opposite side of the motherboard. Since the cables are short, I have to expose the 24pin ATX power cable wire in the case instead of behind the motherboard tray. Not a big issue just not as pretty. Other than that the psu is very solid, did I mention quiet.

I bought this PSU on Boxing day last year when it was like $30. The MIR was terrible, as it took 4 months before it finally arrived.
I bought this to replace my 250W PSU that was about 6 years old. This PSU is modular, which was really good. I put the wires that were needed and left the ones I didn't need outside. It was very easy to install, and didn't take too much effort getting everything around. This unit is also very quiet, compared to my older one. I mainly bought this PSU because I bought a ATI 4850, and my old PSU didn't have a 6-pin connector.
This was a very good product, and only the MIR from OCZ was the pain. I would recommend this product.

Price Modular Clean

Short Wires Weak Flexible Wires
|
The price on this PSU is remarkable, $69.99 for a 600w Modular PSU is about as good as it gets.
Powering an HD5770 and a 1055T at 3.4 GHz with loads of juice to spare.
My only complaint about this PSU, some of the wires aren't long enough and unlike the TX750, the wires lack a bit of flexibility.
For the price, it's hard to complain.

Purchased while on sale with a 20$ rebate at a cost of 35$. Great power supply, quick to setup. Modular cables came with a storage bag to keep them in order. Solidly built and looks nice. Other than that what can i say, it's doing it's job powering a high end system with a geforce 460. Great buy if you need a cheap yet good psu for an upgrade.

Good price for a 600w PSU. Has fairly strong rails - good enough for a semi powerful CPU and GPU. Would probably take a GTX 460 just fine.
It's louder than other PSUs that I've had. I certainly wouldn't call it silent or even ultra quiet.
The Corsair CX400 (now discontinued) was the same price as this. I opted for the stronger rails.

-Quiet, more than enough power and easy to install
|
-Terrible MIR process
|
Except for a painfully obscure MIR process, designed largely to make most people give up, this PSU is quiet and easy to install. It has more than enough power for my rig: AM3 quad core, 2 HD's, two DVD drives, card reader and a 9600gt.

Does what it's supposed to do, power a 9800gt bfg graphics card and the rest of my components. Lots of cables and they are modular, so no extra cables in your case to block airflow if you dont need them all. Was on discount, so good deal.
|
none, get it!
|
What can I say, it's a power supply. It supplies power. Does it supply enough? I got a 9800gt which sucks power, a quad core, both slightly overclocked, some usb ports and 5 fans, so it's ok for that. I'd get it again.

Quiet, modular connections for molex/sata/pci-xxpress, very efficient, cable lengths good for m-atx/mid-tower.
|
Poor quality cable sleeving, 20+4 pin connector have no physical connection to eachother.
|
I'm very happy overall with this power supply, with the instant rebate and MIR it is a really good value for the quality received. Fan in nearly silent, good airflow through casing and cool air exhausted for the most part leading me to believe the ModXStream has great energy efficiency. The cable lengths are reasonably long, best suited for m-atx/mid-tower from my experience. The sleeving is okay but could have used much better quality sleeve as the cable colors inside are very visible, but most that care will re-sleeve anyway. The semi-modular design of this unit is good but my only annoyance is the 4 and 8 pin auxiliary power connections both being tethered to the unit, I would have preferred 4+4 or modular connection. Painted finish is decent, decent scratch resistance for a psu. Nice large fan opening with chrome wire grill. Overall happy with my purchase.

Perfect for a budget or home build. I highly recommend OCZ power supplies. I install many of them and I've never had any issue. Maybe you should consider more than 600 watts if you think you'll be adding many drives and a newer video card.

|
None observed so far. I don't know about short cables, as I didn't have to build my system.
|
This is a great value at the price I got it. The 600 watts should be enough for most unambitious builds. Nice and quiet and seems to be performing great so far. Definitely a great value, and even better when it's on sale. Can't imagine a better value for a regular build.

Modular, Silent, Sleeved Cables
|
Cord length good up to mid-tower
|
Great buy when I got it with MIR. Its quiet and semi-modular so it saves room when the wiring takes place and comes with lots of failsafe meaning it should last. However, if your tower is bigger then mid-tower size then you the cables (short length) won't reach.

Silent partly modular
|
short cables not suited for bottom mounted (SATA are wrong way)
|
A good PSU for a budget gaming build. Has the efficiency, silence and modular aspect most people look for. One problem to note however is the cable length between sata power output. This PSU is more suited for a top-mounted PSU.
Package comes with a zipper bag (like a pencil case) that contains all the modular cables: 2x PCI-E 6+2pins, 2x SATA (each has 3 power output), 2x molex.
Cables a bit on the stiff side, just long enough to route behind motherboard on a mid-ATX case. Definitely too short with full ATX.
Overall, I am really pleased with this product. If you are looking for a budget PSU but still want some performance, this one is a good deal.

Quiet. Modular. Sleeved cables. Looks Good.
|
8 pin power cable is a centimeter short to route behind the mobo tray.
|
The price of this power supply more than makes up for any shortcomings. Alot of people complain that the cables are too short. I have an Azza Solano case which is the same size as a Antec 900 and all the cables were easily routed behind the motherboard for an incredibly clean install. Minor gripe is the eight pin power connector is about a centimeter too short to route behind the tray.

- Modular - Very quiet - Sleeved cables - 80 Plus - Price
|
- 8-pin CPU power connector is a little short
|
The cable management could have been easier. I was building a computer in a mid-tower case and had to loop the 8-pin CPU power connector over my motherboard.
I'd buy it again, though. I got this for $60 after mail-in rebate, which is pretty good value for all the features.

Quiet, modular cables
|
Relatively short cable length
|
Got this PSU for an E5200, Gigabyte UD3P and 4870 gaming rig and it's fantastic.
The cables are modular which are a plus if you have just a few components in your PC. Not only does it cut the clutter but also promotes better airflow.
One thing to note is that the cables are relatively short so if you have a full tower case, make sure you look for a PSU with longer cables.
I have this installed in a mid-tower NZXY Lexa case and the cable length is just fine.
4 out of 5 stars. -1 for the cable length

It is nicely built, with high quality, and runs quiet. Cable wraps help greatly with air-flow organization and tie downs.
|
8-pin and 4-pin CPU plugs are not modular, so one will always be dangling. Strangely out of character, but overlookable.
|
Good all around PSU for most builds. Wish it was totaly modular including the CPU connectors. The extra CPU connector was kind of a pain to hide. Use it for an old amd p1 x4 about 3 months to now power a i7 system since jan. with no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended.

Other than the short cables on teh 24 pin, I have nothing bad to say about this PSU, it has every cable you need, and more. Offers great amperage on teh 12v rails, and an awsome value when paired with OCZ rebate. I knoe people say OCZ rebates are awful, but I personally have never had an issue and this is my 5th time for a rebate from them. Very versatile PSU, and the powder coat on the PSU looks flawless! Avtive PFC is always nice, and hard to find on a budget PSU! Amazing PSU for the price!
