Cons Can only control volume and bass, mesh screen covers are a bit flimsy.
Summary These are great little speakers, having a very high volume output with little to no discernible distortions. The quiet rear speaker issue takes a bit of tweaking with audio settings in Windows, though a control knob for each area would have been appreciated. These ones are often on sale for a great price, and are definitely worth grabbing in such situations.
Summary I cannot believe they cost so cheap for something so elegant. This is why I purchased them. Would buy again. Surround sound is a whole different kind of experience in gaming and movies/tv shows compared to 2 channel audio. The look is very beautiful also. Just make sure your motherboard supports these before you purchase them. Some mitx motherboards I had did not have the ports for these. Just a tip for beginners.
Pros easy set up crisp sound adjustable bass nice size
Summary I only buy Logitech speakers when they are on sale as I do love how long they last. These ones have great sound that is easy to adjust. The wires are extra long which allows room to move the position of each unit easily. These were basic plug and play speakers that did not require any additional installation. Definitely will stay loyal to Logitech.
Cons No sort of speaker cover or grill. This could be an issue if you drop them the wrong way.
Summary Considering the modest price point, this surround system is fantastic! Nice crisp highs and rich deep bass. Plenty of distortion free volume at your command. You would have to pay hundreds of dollars more to find anything better. Highly recommended!
Pros Thease speaker have a great sound. You can choose if u want a lot of bass or not.
Cons Hard time to make the rear speaker works. If u have the same issue, I may be able to help you. If like me you have a 7.1 sound on your motherboard, you gotta plug you Black cable in the gray hole. It wont work in the black one.
Summary At first, I was disappointed because I wasnt able to have more than 2.1, but when I tried to put the black cable in the gray hole, everything worked fine. Thease are a great 5.1 speaker. I cant want more than that. It may not rivalise with 800$ home theater, but for computer speaker, they work really well.
Cons IT'S JUNK!! Lots of issue found throughout worldwideweb
Summary Bass stopped working without reason after a year of low to moderate use (I would rather use my headset most of the time) and I am not the person to set the volume or bass level high.
I recommend buying something slightly more expensive NOT MADE IN CHINA; from a country with actual quality standards and norms. It's also annoying to try to fix everything is glued and the resistors were all bent inside. This didn't worth my trouble.
Cons Buttons are flimsy and ready to fall apart Had two sets in 2 days, both cratered in under an hour
Summary Bought a set of these because of the price point and I wanted 5.1 sound. There are a lot of glowing reviews for these speakers and I can see why. When they worked, they sound quite good, aside from a few minor issues (crackling/popping when adjusting volume on occasion, the cheap feel of power button and volume control). The problem is, I ran through 2 sets in literally 2 days. Both just lost power after an hour or so of usage. Not very promising, honestly. As much as I wanted 5.1 sound I'm at the point where I think I'll have to downgrade. Other 5.1 sets are out of my current budget and I don't have much faith in getting another set. Would give this a lower rating, but it won't let me without an order ID. So, guess the reviews are inflated.
Pros 5.1 surround sound, Logitech brand, not too expensive
Cons Cheaper than previous models, terrible for music, rear speakers are very quiet, waste of money...get z623 instead.
Summary I'm writing this review to let anyone whose considering buying this NOT to buy it if you are going to listen to any type of music on these as it's terrible for music. Spend the extra $40 and get the z623 instead. Had I known how bad these sound, I would not have bought them. I had the previous model x530 for many years now and it sounds WAY better than these z506. The subwoofer is almost twice as large on the x530 in terms of total area. The satellites on the z506 has the exact same 2" drivers as on the x530 but you only get 1 instead of the dual drivers on the x530. The tweeter looking thing is fake as there's nothing inside it so you only get that 1 little driver making all the high and mid sounds which seem very dry and separated and from the weak subwoofer. Where as the sounds from the x530 and x540 was warm and unified, the sounds from the z506 just suck. It sounds like $30 speakers not $80 speakers. I don't want to listen to music on these. This is just a cheaply made version of the x530 and x540. If you truly must have 5.1 for games and movies and on a tight budget then it's OK, otherwise get the Logitech z623 or bet yet Corsair SP2500.
Pros good value for the price if they had lasted more than one week.
Cons only lasted a week
Summary These died for seemingly no reason after less than a week of very light use. I have not even turned them up past 30%. I was in the middle of playing x-com, when today all of the sudden there was a pop/slight crackle and the sound cut out. My sound card, computer, speaker cables or sound drivers are not to blame. Turning the speakers all the way up results in just barely being able to hear something out of one or two satellites, nothing I tried fixed it. I am going to return it immediately, and get something else. If they have nothing else I will give these one more chance, and if they break again will be asking for a refund. They were nice for the 6 days that they worked. I rated as three stars, as I don't have an order ID because I didn't purchase them from NCIX. These definitely deserve a 1 star though.
Cons Had 3 in 2 years, all broken one way or another...
Summary Had the z506 for my office/gaming computer for around 2 years (maybe a little less) -- great product until it up and died. As far as I could tell, a problem with power supply within the sub killed it; with that broken, the whole thing's junk.
Saw the same system on sale at NCIX, decided to buy another -- I may have just had a faulty one that died early, right? Well... new one arrived totally non-functional. Seemingly the same (or similar) problem as with the first one.
So RMA... for more than half the cost of a new one... and the RMA'd one is perfect... except that the output to the rear surround speaker is faulty. So, it's really a lopsided 4.1 system then.
Wondering why it costs so little? It would seem you get what you pay for, at least in terms of build quality and reliability. I'm cutting my losses here; buyer beware.
Summary Surround sound for an inexpensive price. I bought them for my desktop computer for gaming and music and have been enjoying every moment. I find Logitech products to be of very high quality so I didn't hesitate buying them. Great speakers for the price!
Pros -5.1 set at a great price -Central speaker attaches to the top of the monitor
Cons -Bass control at back of subwoofer, and not on front right satellite speaker
Summary I had my eye on a 5.1 speaker system and price matched this for $80. Though the surround sound isn't all that great, it's better than nothing.
Having the centre speaker attachable on the top of my 27" monitor clears up much needed desk space.
Many people had commented on the buzzing noise they experienced with this set of speakers but I am glad mine worked right out of the box. The only issue getting the 5.1 sound working was with the motherboard's audio drivers(some minor installation, reinstallation and tweaking of settings).
I'm no expert when it comes to the quality of a subwoofer's bass, but this one's bass is decent enough for my needs.
This set would have been perfect if the bass control was also on the volume control. However, the versatility of the centre speaker's positioning was more important in the long run.
Summary If you've never experienced true 5.1 surround sound, have a capable sound card and your content primarily resides on your PC, the Logitech Z506 are a fantastic speaker for you..with an excellent design and sound quality, the Z506 is an excellent surround sound set that’s also reasonably priced.
Pros 1. Good sound quality 2. great base 3. the highs are decent but could have been better
Cons A few things i do not like about the speak system. 1. The controller for the speaker system is hard wired and cannot be disconnected,a feature i now miss. Makes it difficult to setup and hide wires.
2. The speaker wires are not long enough,
3. Matrix mode is horrible, i recommend not even using it.
Summary Pretty good for the price, i got these to replace my creative megaworks speaker system that was about 9 years old and finally gave out. Not as good as my Megaworks speaker system, but its close and for less than half the price for what i paid for the meagaworks system. Over all good sound quality, base is pretty good to.
Summary These are great speakers. We have them connected to our TV, and it makes the sound much more clear and crisp (especially dialogue)than the TV speakers, or either of our 2 old sets of speakers. The (fake) surround is amazingly good when connected to the stereo. Highly recommended.
Pros great speakers , good price , next day delivery
Summary just got speakers setup they sound great , just 2.1 atm easy to set up just had to let them warm for a couple hrs as they were really cold of the delivery truck , but they came on next day after ordering , they sound great cant tun them up to high they get to load
Summary Great speakers, you are getting exactly what you pay for, wouldn't call them the greatest speakers, but logitech does make decent quality speakers, wouldn't recommend it for playing music in high volumes but is neat for just your bedroom to listen to music or gaming
Cons No volume for the rear speaker; no volume for the center speaker; You can see that it will last maximum 2 years, maybe 3 if you are carefull
Summary Looks good overall, but you can't play with the volume of the rear and center speakers, wires seems cheaps. Decent sound for the price. I would not buy this if I am living in a house, good set for condo, since it's not "too powerfull" to disturb people around you.
Pros It is a great sound system, sounds crystal clear on louder volumes, Setup was very simple, very cost effective, Analog surround sound, great bass
Summary Great for the price it comes at. it even has RCA inputs for those gamers out there. it's not TRUE surround sound with the RCA cables though, but that's a given. The speakers are plenty loud for everyday use, I never go above 50% volume, but I also don't like making my ears bleed. The bass has a control knob as well so you can set it to your liking. overall a great product for the price you get it for.
Pros Easy hook up. Many differnet options and ways to hook them up. I can plug in 3 devices at once and audio plays what ever device I'm using.
Cons Not Switchable audio inputs.play a game and watch a movie they both play over the speakers. Even though this is a powered woffer If your after bass you will find it lacking.
Summary Very good 5.1 pc or home theater speakers for a small space like a bedroom. For the sale price. At full price spend a little more and buy a better set. They do sound very nice but not fully robust.
Pros Price 5.1 surround Logitech Branding (guaranteed good customer service)
Cons speakers and sub are not highest quality can hear winning noise from some the center speaker if you put your ear against it.
Summary Best 5.1 set for 100$, but don't expect the sub to shake a house. The sub however is good enough for a normal bedroom or study. The rear speakers are a lot less quite than the front and center.
In conclusion if your looking for a 5.1 speaker set that will play good sounds and are putting it in a decent sized room go for these.
However this is not for the living room or a Media room.
Summary I bought this mainly for my t.v but it doesn't have the proper connections for 5.1 surround sound. It has the option to connect using RCA cables but with them you can only get sound out of the 3 speakers. I should of did more research on these speakers. But with only 3 speakers working this system did sound pretty good.

Pros Great sound Good for anything (PC, TV, Consoles...) Wires are really long
Cons None so far
Summary I bought this for about 80$ at Father's day. It's for my PC but I was planning to buy an xbox later and wanted to play on my PC monitor (it means I need speakers) so I got those. I am a gamer and I am a musician, I just WANT to have a great sound and this is what I found with those speakers. It's a must buy. The only thing is that I was scared about the rear speakers since it's not for a desk in my room, but the wires are really long so I can place them anywhere in the room, behind me. Also the center speaker can be placed on your screen. I only have a laptop so I can't really talk about the 5.1 right now, but with my next computer and xbox it will be fantastic.
Pros Great for gaming and movies. Stong, deep bass.
Cons Background sound seems louder than voices when watching some movies
Summary Amazing quality for your money. The bass is quite strong and deep. Works great for gaming and movies for the price. Had some issues when watching some movies where voices were harder to hear compared to the environmental sounds (background music, sounds effects). This could possibly be mainly due to the movie I think.
Cons Crap on my computer desk keeps getting in the way of the volume knob
Summary I love playing my games in 5.1 sound. really lets you get into the game. I listen to all of my music on these and have had no problems hearing it from my living room. You want a descent surround sound system for a little $ go with this.
