As used for storage capacity, one megabyte (MB) = one million bytes, one gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes, and one terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes. Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment. As used for buffer or cache, one megabyte (MB) = 1,048,576 bytes. As used for transfer rate or interface, megabyte per second (MB/s) = one million bytes per second, megabit per second (Mb/s) = one million bits per second, and gigabit per second (Gb/s) = one billion bits per second.

I just bought 6 more of these babies to fill out a TheCus NAS box. I was using those RED WD drives since they were made available a few years back, slowly replacing all those WD Green in my older NAS Boxes (Dns-323 and Dns-325). Recently two WD-Green dies in some of my older NAS boxes. PS: When i bought the WD-Green, those RED did not exist at that time, so they were very useful for some years, but they do not handle high temperature and with the HOT summer, with 5 NAS boxes side by side, i had trouble with 2 of them, the same day (Strange!!), those NAS Boxes that were hosting the WD-Green and no trouble at all with the 3 others NAS all hosting WD-RED 3TB, that's why i decide to buy all 5 new WD-RED for my new NAS Boxes and 1 spare just in case (6 WD-Red in total). I highly recommends them (Read More)
