Quiet Reliable
|
Non-modular No fan monitoring header Pictures don't match actual unit (as others have noted)
|
Not much to complain about this unit. It is pretty quiet overall and powers up a modest system with a older i7-860 and R260 card. It has proven to be very stable even during an extreme heat spell we have had lately (ambient temps - 35 degrees).
There are cheaper units at this wattage rating but they won't have the reliability that this unit can provide. Also the current pictures does not match what is actually shipped as others have noted. There is another similar unit that is Gold rated versus the Bronze of this PSU, but is costs a bit more.

Quality, decently quiet.
|
Not modular
|
This is a Seasonic rebranded PS which means it is good quality. Not modular, and priced higher than comparable power supplies at this wattage, but definitely worth it for a system that's running 24/7 for a few years. Hate MIR's, but process was easy.

Got this PSU for an older build with: Intel Q6600 Radeon HD4850 Gigabyte P45-UD3R AData 128GB SSD
It runs almost silent whilst in idle or playing movies. Currently using this as an HTPC, so not much testing with load. However, the amperage ratings look good with 44A on the 12v rail. If this is to be trusted (which online research suggests), this is even slightly higher than the Corsair VX550 that I'm running on my gaming rig. Good quality overall for a $55 PSU.

Quality, Warranty

Cable lengths are long...
|
So far I'm loving this purchase. Read up on it being a Seasonic manufactured PSU and I registered it to get the full warranty. The rebate form is quick and easy to fill out online but you have to mail it to get the prepaid credit card as usual. It seems super quiet compared to some of my old units. A couple of little quirks, the unit you get is the TS550 which is fine as it's the same spec, Bronze rated. The warranty is non-transferable. To see the specs sticker you need to pull the PSU as it's on the top of the PSU and not the side.

Broke my previous budget PSU and decided to get one better branded and built. Apparently this unit is built by Seasonic which has a good reputation for high quality PSU.
Its quiet even under gaming load. Powers my O/C'd FX-6300 / M5A97 / R7 250 with much to spare. The cables are wrapped and long enough to be routed behind the case. Lots of connectors, too many for me, but others might need it. Great buy and recommended!!

Very reliable yet at a very affordable price. This power supply is manufactured with the best quality by Seasonic.
|
Some people might struggle with cable management since it's full wired.
|
This is a high quality power supply, no doubt about it. Reason why I gave it 2 stars is because I received the XFX TS 550W, it seems it is sold under the name of the XFX Core Edition. Both are quite the same, I did not returned it because it served it's porpuse quite right but BEWARE! you might not get the XFX Core Edition, but the XFX TS 550W.

Small clean design. Sufficient cable length all sleeved. Quiet fan
|
sleeving not the best, received a TS550 instead of a Pro550W
|
The power supply proved to be quiet at moderate to medium loads. At higher loads, the fan tends to get noisy.
The product description is for an XFX Pro550W (#P1550SXXB9). The product that arrived is a TS550. Looking at the specs of the TS550 (#P1550GTS3X) it is gold certified. This one however has a bronze certified label on the PSU housing. The carton and the PSU housing is for TS series. The actual product specs and the SKU/UPC is for the Pro550.
A couple of weird things with the cabling:(These issues do not affect the functionality of the PSU)
1 X 6+2 pin plus 1 X 6-pin pcie connector for the video card (The six pin is labeled pcie but the 6+2 has no label).
2 sets of EPS12V cable. One is a single 8-pin and the other is a split 4+4 pin.
3 sets of cables with 3 sata power connectors each (for a total of 9 sata devices). The two cables are of equal length, the 3rd cable is about 6 inches shorter.
Using OCCT 4 for an extended PSU test, the power supply worked without any issues even when stress tested continously for about 2 hours. This PSU will be powering a system that draws less than 50% of its rated 528W +12V output x max CPU and GPU so I'm not expecting any major longevity issues.

cable management can be a mess two molex leads, one is enough
|
Bought this for a budget build. Good quality PSU that's stable, reliable, and also quiet. Downside with non-modular PSUs, it creates a mess of cables in the case. It comes with two 4-pin molex leads with 3 connectors each which is overkill. Not very many things require molex anymore.

Bon prix lorsqu'en solde à 57.99$. Bonne marque. Bon manufacturier d'origine (Seasonic). Ventilateur très silencieux. 80Plus Bronze.
|
Câbles rigides.
|

- Price was good - For the most part sleeved - Quiet
|
- Single fan
|
Got this to replace an Antec TP2 550W that died. So far hasn't given me any troubles. The sleeves really help, but ideally it would've been nice to have completely sleeved cables or maybe even modular. For the price though this was the cheapest 550W I could find that wasn't from a suspect company. I wish there were 2 fans though, like my older PSU, but haven't had issues with it yet.

Didn't come with a power cable. :(
|
I have no complaints about the XFX 550 Pro. Everything feels solid, and the cables were very well protected. The wires felt a little stiff, but that's to be expected. The only fault was that it was missing the power cable. This is a serious problem because it makes a good product unusable. It's supposed to be included in the box, so someone must have been sleepy on the job. I had a spare cable, and PSU is working very well.

Cables seem just a tad short.
|
Bought this to power a buddies budget rig, yet leave some room for futire expansion/improvement. Overall impressed with the unit except for one thing. This went into an HAF 912, which isn't an over large case, and yet the 8 pin just barely went behind the motherboard for plug in. In a larger case this would not have been possible. Minus 1 point for that. Otherwise excellent.

* Solid Brand Name
|
* Lack of High Temp Capacitors * Bulky Cables
|
The cables come out of the PSU in a large bundle, which one expects in a non-modular power supply. The cables are well sleeved and seem to be of decent quality.
The manual and box differ with regard to high temp / high quality capacitors that are supposed to be part of the XFX " Pro " Series. Either way they conclude that the caps in this unit are not solid electrolyte Japanese models nor are they life rated at 105 C but rather at 85 C. Kind of lame.
I purchased this unit based on two factors, cost + brand name. It is for an office machine and needs only power a very modest setup, but it needs to do so without issue for several years.
So far it has met my expectations, but nothing more.

good quality and lots of ports, pin and sata power port, so you can power your old 4 pin hard drive or new sata hard drive. I hate the rebate. if you want to get the rebate, you have to mail the rebate form,Orignal UPC Barcode lable and copy of receipt/invoice or packing list to them, it means that I have to spend some money to mail the documents to San Diego, CA, USA , so I can get 10 dollars gift card. why they can not accept it from email? I give up the rebate.

Ok so I use this in a Fractal design 1000 and the number of cables makes it cluttered but with some creativity you can make it work. I run an A10-5800k, ASUS F2A85-M Pro, 16gb 2133mhz, Lg lightscribe dvd drive, 750gb, 1tb, 200gb, and 320gb hdd's....if I could afford it I would have gone modular...cause the number of cables is crazy...but I got it to work for now anyway.. not my number one choice for mATX build but it will work..

Has been working fine so far. is providing enough power for my i7 2600k oc'd with 6 hdd, dvd, 2 ssd, ati 6870 and 5 120mm fans. The PS fan is not audible while running the case fans at a low setting and cpu + vid card under full load.
The only minor negative is that installation felt tedious because of the large number of cables. However I am pleased that after connecting 9 drives there are still plenty of sockets and power available.
Really good deal r 45 bucks (after rebate) for a 80plus bronze seasonic manufactured p.s. 5 yr warranty doesn't hurt either

MIR, cable sleeving, non-modular.
|
Flippin' cheap, yet very decent power supply. Price matched to $59 plus a $20 MIR, you've got a winner here. Unfortunately, this isn't modular and it comes with so many cables that it is actually fairly though to route all these so the left panel of some cases may properly close (e.g. HAF 912). Speaking about cables, their sleeving is actually of rather poor quality. I accidently damaged one on a slightly sharp corner of a video card... I also had trouble with some slightly angled pins of a molex connector. Looks great, works great.
