For me personally, it was kind of a hard to put on but it was the first time I put on an after market cooler on so it obviously depends.

Great little heatsink. Not gunna put a hole in your pocket and it keeps my AMD 8350 8 Core cpu OC'd to 4.5ghz nicely cool. (Check out my review on it!)

Heatsink doesnt look really locked
|
Easy to install, the heatsink can still twist if you try to move it but it does not seem to impact performance. Passively cooling a X4 925 with the airflow of the case. Stay around 30-33 degrees Celsius.

Cool and Quiet
|
Bit finicky to install
|
I got this to replace another cooler that had the fan die on it. I knew this has been the standard in air cooling for some time. I was not disappointed - works great and is really quiet when you want it to be. Installing was a bit tricky and it seems like the cooler itself is a bit "loose" on the CPU. However it is cooling well so no worries in the end.

|
A little clunky to install, but fits in very securely when you figure it out.
|
Got this for my first build and it not only keeps everything at a great temp even during heavy load but it does so quietly, which is a major upgrade over what I had. I'd recommend this to anyone building their own system.

Good mounting bracket Great performance Price
|
Can be difficult to mount on certain case/motherboard combinations None
|
Using this in a Fractal Design R4 Blackout on a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H with Intel i5-4590. It keeps temps very low even on load: 34C (idle) and 45C (load). Stellar performance in a supposedly silent case which usually entails high temps. Included is a great mounting bracket unlike those flimsy intel "push-pins" that I've grown to hate. Usually great performance = high price, but not so here since this is one of the cheapest aftermarket coolers on the market at $30. Can't be beat! Only thing to watch out for is mounting can be slightly difficult so you may have to mount it before mounting the motherboard into the case. In my combination, I was able to first mount the motherboard then the cooler.

Good cooling power, quiet
|
harder to install than stock
|
First thing noticed is the massive size compared to the stock. Installation was more elaborate than the stock, but parts fit together nicely. Lots of youtube videos tutorial on installing this fan so there should be no problem.
Great cooling power, much lower CPU temp. Definitely a big step up from the stock. And significantly more quiet than stock at high load. No wonder it's popular. At such price, I'm very satisfied.

Quiet Easy install Cools nicely Good looks
|
Install instructions aren't that clear
|
A very nice cooling unit for the price. The best you can find for less than 30$. Search any forums and you will find that this cooler is the most recommended one. At first, I was looking at the Noctua U12S, but I decided to go with the Coolermaster because of the price difference. While I already own Noctua products, I couldn't justify the price difference for the CPU cooler.
The ony Con I would say is that the install instructions aren't so easy to follow. However, looking videos on Youtube makes the installation very easy. In fact, the installation itself is quite easy. If this isn't your first time installing a CPU heatsink/cooler, I don't know why you wouldn't succeed with this one.
For the price, the performances and the looks, you can't beat this one. Get it on sale or price-match it and you'll be a happy camper !
Highly recommended product.

Works very well better then expected for price tag quiet nice 4 pin connector for newer boards that can automatically control fan speed.
|
Massive (more in summary may interfere with ram may not fit in your case
|
this fan cools very very well for its price point i have a cooler master haf 912 and it barely fits but does at least the only issue i had is my corsair ram it has huge heat sink fins and i couldnt have the 120mm fan on the closest side to the ram due to the ram being in the way so i had to move it to the opposite side of the heaetsink so its on the back almost beside the back fan so it doesnt work as well but it still amazes me it handles the i5 4670k (stock havent overclocked it yet) on idle its 34 celcious and thats with the cpu fan spinning slowly since its 4pin connecetor mobo can control fan speed so its not full tilt constantly but once again very good cooler just make sure you check the size of the fan to make sure it will fit in your case

Amazing cooler for the price. Keeps my FX 6300 at 4.3ghz (1.34 volts stable) at around 45 degrees max which is kinda crazy (btw, using just 1 fan in pull). Also, included thermal paste is pretty decent, works well for being included.
|
Installation took a little while because the included retention plate was hard to install (not the mounting plate on the back of the motherboard, the one that goes through the cooling heatpipes to screw down), took a few tries and a bit of thermal paste, but in the end it all worked fine. Also, just a bit too wide for my case (like less then a cm) but that isn't a big deal, just bends my side panel a bit.
|
Really can't complain for the money I paid, it is flipping amazing. If you need a cooler for a low price, get this. It is pretty amazing.

I cant believe how well this cooler works, and how well built it/easy to install it is for the price. If your not going liquid cooled this is probably as good as it gets.
Only a side not, not a con really, but make sure your case will fit this cooler, as mentioned above it is quite large and in charge.

|
marginal improvement (if any) over the 212 plus. The plastic fan clips appear "more" breakable, translucent plastic fan doesnt seem as durable as the original 212
|
This is going to be used to cool a i5-4570 at stock speeds. During mock-up and bench testing, I used the older hyper 212+ and it cooled the processor really well while doing prime95 and OCCT burn-in tests. Even with low noise, low static pressure Yate Loon fans (D12SL-12) the system barely broke 55C and on the silent fan profile. Size isnt an issue. OCCT would fail using the stock intel fan in as little as 2 minutes with temps for at least one core reaching 75C In a way, I was expecting this to be almost identical to the older 212 but there are some key and important differences. As advertised, the direct touch heatpipes are no longer "separated" by aluminum. All the 4 pipes are adjacent to each other. The aluminum base plate is a bit taller than the older 212 but the overall height of the tower cooler remains the same. The x-type clamping mechanism remains the same but the standoffs are different. Please note that the standoffs that come with the 212 Evo is a lot taller than the standoffs that came with the 212 plus. The original 212+ are closer to the size of the 2011 standoffs included with the 212 Evo package. So dont try replacing the 212+ heatsink with the 212 evo without changing standoffs. The backplate remains the same. The fan is translucent black (A12025-20CB-4BP)similar in color to the coolermaster R4 sickle flow fans. The blades feel more breakable compared to the matte nylon 212+ fan. Noise is about the same with the newer fan being slightly quieter. Cooling is about the same but with the 212 evo consistently being 1-2C warmer than the 212+ (same fans, same fan speeds on a fan controller) If you have the space and if you dont intend to OC like crazy, this is one of the most viable replacement cooler for both AMD and Intel platforms.

This cooler has the same cooling efficiency of my OEM AMD FX 6300 cooler but much quieter.
Make sure you have a wide case to handle this cooler, check out many install videos and research your MOBO for compatibility. I had to mount my side case fan on the outside of the case otherwise, the cooler would contact the fan. My case is 8 1/2 wide.

A bit tall do not fit in narrow cases resistor paranoia
|
I buy these on sale or when I build an new box. If you go air there is no better CPU cooler for the price. Okay the cons. Be prepared to figure out the holding mechanism. I have built 5 plus boxes with these over the years and still have some trial and error of which way the X goes under the fins. Do not screw down into mobo stand-offs until you are sure. It will save you some time. I am always a little worried about the size of the whole on the bac of the mobo. It does cover some of the micro resistors. It has never given me issues but it always makes me wonder.

I had bought a FX-8320 along with an Asus M5A99X Evo Rev2.0 motherboard. Turns out that the default heatsink provided with the AMD processor is quite loud, bad and my CPU would run at 43-45 degrees idle.
Now, I love my PC sessions quiet and the default heatsink was a nightmare. Bought this for about 30$ and it's relatively easy to install. My CPU is now idle at 29-31 degrees and in games I get to about 45 degrees. It's super quiet in idle mode and even in games it's really tolerable, for the price paid.
All in all, a good 30$ investment, even if you're on a budget. Silence is worth something !

Spend a good hour trying to understand how to install it. Easy to install in minutes, had to install the fan in a "pull" position in order to have sufficient room for my Hyper Beast Ram. A great cheap alternative until I get my custom loop built. Would recommend, keeps everything cool

Better than stock heatsink, low price
|
Very Tall, go over nearest memory slot, hard to install, not fixed strongly
|
It's a good heatsink for the price, but i can't rate it 5 star because you can tilt it after the install so you must be careful to not scrap your thermal coumpound application.
Performance wise, its better than stock but you will not be able to do super-overclocking. 4.5 GHz on my 2600K seem too much heatwise for that heatsink. (going over 90). But i still find it better than stock heatsink at stock speed since temps and noise are lower.
Also, be carefull, this heatsink is very tall and also it will go over the nearest memorybank on your motherboard so don't buy memory with a tall heatsink.

This one works. There isn't really much else to say. It's definitely bigger and better than the stock heat sinks. However, there are heat sinks (more expensive) with better performance and easier installation. Still, at $29.99, it's hard to beat this one. If you are spending less than $300 on your CPU, this will suffice.

Easy to install, price, weight, silent
|
none i can see
|
Originally had the stock intel heatsink with my 3770k and it made an annoying whinny noise while running. Could always hear it while the computer was on. I wouldn't classify it as loud but much more noise than i had hoped for on my first build. I did just recently build an htpc with an intel fan and its very quiet so it may have just been bad luck. Either way i didn't want any noise.
I have it in an Fractal R4 and one reason i bought that case was for the sound deadening it provides. More concerned with quiet than temps, but as my processor can get pretty hot a bit extra cooling can only be a good thing. I did look at water cooling, but that seemed like overkill and much more expensive.
My main point: this thing is dead silent in my case. I can't hear anything which is exactly what i wanted. So its a great buy at a great price. Highly recommended.

not bad on LGA 2011, 3930k, it cools it down a little bit better than other HSF. and compared to when cooling other CPU's.

6 cores/12 threads seems a little bit too much for this.

Cheap. Performance. Can use any 120mm fan.
|
Included fan 'ticks'. Not same quality as e.g. Thermalright. Bare copper parts, no plating.

Installation was OK. Instructions are clear enough. Good value for money.
Swapped the included fan for a Nexus quiet orange fan. 3570K idles at 8C above ambient, load at ~40C above ambient with the Nexus at 1160 RPM.
Rear bracket was slightly mis-aligned with the holes on the motherboard (one leg may be slightly bent). This made the fourth spacer bolt more difficult to get in than it should have been.
Rear nuts are loose and not incorporated in the rear bracket, so one hand is needed on each side of the board during initial installation.

Instructions were not very clear. Installation is difficult in an already put together case.
The fan is very quiet and keeps stock clocked i5 around 30 C idle.
The cooler is pretty big, almost didn't fit in my case.

Nice cooling for a cheap price
|
A little bit tricky to install
|
Keep in mind it was my first time installing a new CPU heatsink, even after reading the instructions I found it rather difficult to get it on correctly but after about 10 minutes of fustration I managed to do it properly heh.
I bought it when it was on sale for 27.99$ and for the price (even now) it's a really good purchase. Keeps my 3770k nice and cool. I'd highly recommend it for someone who wants better cooling for a good price (the stock heatsinks on intel CPU's are quite terrible).

As a CPU cooler newbie I found this cooler a bit tricky to install but it was fairly straight forward after reading through the instructions carefully. Once installed I had some clearance issues with my motherboard because the fan stuck out and interfered with my RAM. Once I had it installed i booted up my system and ran a stress test and wow am I impressed with the performance of this thing. My CPU runs very cool. for the price, I couldn't be happier.

Almost didn't fit in z9 plus case, a pain to install if you've never used the mounting bracket system or motherboard mount before.
|
Using on a stock i3570k mounted in a zalman z9 plus case with 7 120mm fans, with an ambient temperature of 21 degrees the chip idles at 28 degrees, under prime95 load test reaches 59 degrees max. More than happy with the performance of this cooler.

This is the third 212 ive used paired with the i5 2500k, and they have been great each time. The fan does sometimes interfere with the ram slots, but its easy to adjust it up a little.
I have been able to get the 2500k to 4.5 and 4.2ghz stable with good temps, around 50 degrees c on load. I realize without context that doesnt mean much, but still.
I would keep using this cooler for sure.

very large instructions could be better
|
Installed on a 3570k. This cools very well and is inexpensive. At 4.2 ghz (I have not tried higher yet) My hottest core hits ~60, I can see that climbing a bit in the summer months tho. friend with same setup hits close to 70 while running prime at 4.5. Much better than the stock intel cooler. This thing is huge tho, may be an issue with some ram configurations. I had to relocate my side panel fan. I give this five stars, but if it cost more I would reduce that to 4.
Overall a great cooler for the price.

probably not enough heatsink area to deal with a maximum OC with an ivy bridge cpu
|
Switched out my old scythe zipang for this unit on my OC'd, and aging q9550. BF3 temps were a concern with the zipang even with the upgraded noiseblocker fan i had on it. hovering around 68-70C after an hour or so playing, now with the 212 temps sit at 55c at their hottest, and with a 100mhz higher overlock than before. 4.1ghz y1.34v. Very impressed how quickly this thing sheds heat as well, temperature drop is nearly instant when cpu load drop s where as the zipang would take serveral minutes to perform the same drop . Only concern is that i'll have to upgrade to a more susbstantial heatsink in the future if i want to get close to 4.8ghz from an ivy bridge or haswell later on down the road, something with much more surface area to avoid heat-soaking like the hyper 612, or noctua dh14.

Solid design, inexpensive
|
Cheap looking thermal paste.
|
Computer was overheating because of BF3 and this cooler resolved it. Fan is relatively quiet and the design of the base is better than the older Evo plus model. Installation was relatively painless.
I first installed the thermal paste by trying to apply it evenly over the processor, but I ended up having heating issues. When i went to reseat the heatsink, I noticed that this method of applying thermal paste wasn't very efficient. Some parts of the heatsink base didn't even touch the CPU. Instead, I applied a small rice-sized portion of thermal grease over the CPU and have noticed better temperatures since.
Also note, that if your motherboard only has 1 PWM port and you have another case fan you want to control, you must use the adapter part of the Evo's cord.

I used to own a Scythe Ninja heatsink, which was massive and made it nearly impossible to work with my motherboard once it was mounted to the case. This 212 EVO heatsink does a very good job and leaves lots of space to work with. My i5 temperatures do not pass 60 degrees C when playing BF3.

Basic aftermarket cooler to help quieten down our PCs. They work fine and keep reasonable temps for IB CPUs. Being a budget cooler, I don't expect the moon of it, and if I actually was concerned about bringing temps down, I'd likely get something a bit heftier.
It works though, looks decent, and keeps things quieter.

Great cooler for the price especially if you snap another fan on it. Got 35C idle with a 3570k at 4.2ghz, and around 65C in Prime95 for an hour. I am using dual Corsair SP120 fans.

Great cooler for the price, Can achieve a bit of overclocking but not too much with only one fan. I would recommend getting another fan to get even better temps with oc although do not expect too much oc.

Really loud fan at loud Big heatsink and is a little hard to install the backplate.

Great fan for only 35$. It keeps my CPU running really cool at idle. But the fan is really loud, and doesn't seem to ever go lower than 1500RPM. Even at idle the fan is super loud, if you have a case with a lot of dust filters or holes near the rear and top (HAF 912). Overall, it's not bad, but the back plate was a bit difficult to install at first.

Cooling decent at best.

Buying this only means you don't want any noise from the stock fan that comes with your CPU. Yeah it's quiet... but it leaves something to be longed for in the cooling department. Then again, it is already pretty cheap so no big loss.
There is more copper contact with this heatsink over the 212+, so it's definitely worth the few extra bucks there.

Effective heatsink keeping i3570k at around 33C on idle, around 69C on full load. Quiet fan in my opinion. Has the kit and option of installing a second fan on heatsink. Includes thermal compound but didn't use it. Not sure if I installed it properly but after securing the heatsink on the motherboard, I can still slightly wiggle it on top of the cpu.

My Core i7 930 stock fan idles at 40-50 degC and runs at 90-100 deg C under full load. After installing Hyper 212 Evo I noticed a big difference in the temperatures.
My new idling temperature ranges from 30-40 degC and 50-60 degC under full load (which is below the rated max. CPU temperature).
I'd highly recommend considering this cooler as not only will it improve your performance, but it's not that pricey!

This is a great little ...well... I should say fairly large, cooler. I didn't have any problems installing this and am by no means even close to a "pro" at this. Can only be mounted horizontally

Wish the mounting mechanism was easier.
Can interfere with ramsinks on certain motherboards due to the heatsink only being able to orient one direction. While the heatsink might not interfere, it is entirely possible for the CPU fan to cause issues.

Looks very nice. Very quiet when using PWM control. Lowers CPU temps by a decent amount. Nice, long black cable. Fan clip system very easy to use. Full direct contact with copper pipes
|
Its a tall boy, almost touches the side panel in my Shinobi. At full speed it is loud. Mounting Bracket is very budget and cheap. Only allows one way facing on AMD systems (top/down).
|
I bought this HSF because of the price, you cant argue about that. It does its good well and is usually pretty quiet for me. I use Q-fan so it doesn't run at full speed because it is very noisy at 100%. Looks nice in my case but because I ran a AMD system I am stuck only using a top/down mounting. Also, the mounting system itself is very cheap and I do not like it but it was only $25. Anything close to this is twice the price.
I am not sure if I would buy it again though. I prefer my HSF using the front/back facing. I would maybe shop around and find a HSF that uses a better mounting bracket.

Big, takes up a bit of room.

Well, I just picked this up with an extra Yate Loon 120mm fan. Installed this on an Asus M5A97 with a FX-4100 b 4.2GHz. My stock temps were at 38C, and 54C under load. They're down to 32C, and 47C load. These numbers were achieved by running Prime95 or 40 minutes, and using SpeedFan for the temps. Couldn't be happier with the purchase, especially for the price. I might look into some better fans to see that improves the temps and bump up the clock a bit more. All-in-all well worth the money and highly recommended.

I didn't expect much from the price but I've read the glowing reviews and went ahead with it anyway. I have a 8 core AMD cpu and it used to easily reach 80+ C when I played games or processed videos. It now rests at 50-60C without issues. The installation was super easy and well documented. Took me about 10 minutes because I didn't want to mess up. -Good Temps -Easy install if fresh mobo/cpu install -cheap
|
-comes with just 1 fan, hard to find the exact same if you wanted 2. But temps are great only a single fan setup.
|
First heatsink install in a few years and didn't have any problems. I am getting temps of 30C and on idle and 50C on stress test for a new i5 3570k at stock in a hot room , this is with all case fans and the cpu fan on low and practically silent. You can't even notice the PC is on unless you really listen and its quiet.
I have not tried cranking the fans and over clocking yet.

- Easy install, even for the inexperienced :-) - Very quiet even under load. - Supports decent overclocking (see below). - Cool looking!
|
- Instructions are a little sparse. Take your time when installing!
|
I had never installed this type of HSF before and was very pleased with the result. It was extra work for me because my case has no CPU cut out in the mobo tray, so... that meant in order to install the backplate, I need to take my whole PC apart. Instructions are a little light on details, but all the info you need is there if you take your time. I am very pleased with this cooler, and I was able to overclock my i7 920 from 2.6 GHz to 3.6 GHz with little effort. I ended up with (average) 43 C on idle, 50-60 C gaming load, 73-74 C Prime95 after 10 minutes. I am running just the single stock fan in a P180 case, so I still have the extra headroom of getting another fan and setting up push/pull cooling if I need more. I have nothing bad to say about this cooler, particularly for the $28 price matched price. Love NCIX for that feature!

Big; dissipates the heat much better than stock CPU cooler. I'm hitting max temps of 61C on an i5 2500K, down from 80C on the stock cooler. (100% max CPU test for 10 minutes at room temp 24C (75F) using supplied CoolerMaster thermal grease.) Now feels safe to try an overclock (if I want). A bit quieter than the Intel supplied CPU cooler. Mounting solution seems solid after installation. I didn't have to remove the motherboard in my Antec 300 case because the side cover comes off, so, installation was easier than I expected
|
Takes a bit of time to install but well worth the effort. You can rotate the cooler a tiny bit either way after installation but this doesn't affect performance; contact with CPU is still good.
|
Overall very happy with my purchase.
I didn't seem to have much trouble with this installation. Here's what I did: 1. Install the back-plate. 2. Test fit without thermal grease. 3. Take it off an apply thermal grease. 4. Install the cooler and tighten it down. 5. Plug it in. (Took me about 30 minutes.)
I've got it installed vertically so the fan pushes air through the heat-sink towards the back of the case. If you have big RAM heat spreaders, you may have to adjust the fan or install in a horizontal rather than vertical position, to push the air towards the top of the case; or install in a pull rather than push configuration.

Pretty quiet and really cool the cpu
|
Big heatsink, check if your case can handle it.
|
I'm running at 40c at full cpu load and 30c when idle. Good build quality and really worth the extra dollar versus the stock fan.

Working very well. Makes my computer cold. Good quality, good price too.
|
A little noisy.
|
Bought this for my new computer. It does everything I was looking for: makes your computer cool for a good price. The only con. is that it is not the most quiet fan.

i got this so i could get something quiet to replace my stock heatsink. Does the job very well, i can barely hear it. Good price. Only runs a few degrees cooler than my stock cooler but but it's not in push-pull. Everything looks like it's high quality for the price. It also comes with some thermal paste, it's kind of questionable looking but if you don't got any and don't really care, well hey, it's in there for you.

quite the cooling unit, keeps my quad core nice and cool, excellent for budget builds , comes with spare clips to attach an extra fan,
|
second fan not included. install was somewhat cumbersome compared to others i have installed.
|
this is an excellent cpu heatsink, i highly recommend this, got it in a web deal for 29.99 ,, so if your wondering its worth it to get this over the lesser model

Cools AMD FX 8150 8 core with no problem. Highest full load temp 52 degrees C. Full load was rendering 5,287,568,443 polygon's. Final render never once was overheated CPU.
|
Easy to install. I am not in anyway an "OVER CLOCKER". My work is more important than bragging rights to geek friends.

cools as advertised
|
attaching the crossbar lever is tricky as the notch fits only one way to get the cooler to mount properly over the cpu....fiddle with this lever before applying thermal paste and removal of plastic sheet on cooler base to see the proper positioning and fit of the X levers.
|
Definitely would buy again but look to pm. Test the mounting before removal of plastic sheet so you can get the proper pin alignment of the cooler X levers.

Phenom II 970 idles about 28 oC, Stresstest/load never exceeds 43 oC. -Flat surface -Fan is fairly silent -2nd Fan bracket included Pins
|
No Led on Fan It's bigger than expected
|
Just fits under Zalman 9 Plus Excellent quality using along with MX-4 Might reseat heatsink to try to get a better temp than 28 oC idle It does get a bit of the way in the ram slot which i am not using.

Cools nicely without much noise
|
Installation was a bit tricky--included diagrams weren't all that helpful.

An excellent cooler for the price. Overclocked a 2.4GHz E5200 to 3.4GHz running Prime95 at 66 degrees. Will definitely buy again.

good cooling inexpensive
|
it`s huge
|
Have it paired with a intel i5 2500k and it`s keeping it very low temps. The only problem I have with it is it doesn`t really fit in the azza 100 case the side fan is stopped by it.

Keeps CPU cool, not -too- large, can expand to dual fan setup.
|
May be too large, feels a bit cheap.

This cooler is very effective. i5 2500k n4.0 28-30C on idle. Highly recommend it for its price to performance ratio. Lots of bang for your buck.

This is an awesome cooler, got it for under $30. It cools an i5 idle at 27C.
My only beef with it is that once mounted it slightly twists back and forth, regardless of how well it performs, I'm docking a star just for that.

great cooling, quiet when not stressing psu much.
|
slightly tall... but to be expected with most aftermarket heatsinks and not excessively so.
|
a great product, cools my i3 530 (overclocked to 4.4) to 34-36 when idle and 68 max when prime has been running for 6 hours. got it for 31$ and change price match. the fan will get slightly noisy at those temps but its normal i think. also, when not stressing the cpu much, you can have no fan and temps would be fine, just 2 degrees difference, although when stressing, you need it to help cool down the fins and heatpipes. easy install but since my case is tight its hard to remove the fan when you need to (antec 200, budget build). when gaming on battlefield 3 for a couple hours with an msi r6970 lightning the temps never reach above 47. Great cooling for the average overclocker Easy to install Included fan is quiet enough
|
Not a con per say - but measure to make sure it'll fit, since it could interfere with your first memory slot.
|
Thus far, I've been very pleased with this cooler. I don't have any experience with the Hyper 212+, it's predecessor, but this cools very well, especially for the competitive price.
I was able to overclock my 2500k to 4.0 ghz without even fiddling with setting in the slightest, and noticed virutally no temperature increase. I have no doubt that I'll be able to ramp up that overclock with ease when I eventually want to.
I'm using a Coolermaster Storm Enforcer case (which is essentially a Haf 912 case with some extra bells n' whistles), and size is a non-issue. It does overlap my first memory slot, such that I can't put in high-profile memory, but no game needs 16 gb of ram.

-inexpensive -good cooling performance
|
-a bit noisy
|
replaced a closed loop water cooler with this. installation instructions were quite poor, but it's mostly obvious how to go about doing it. Temps are solid under load. It's not the quietest cooler I've ever owned, but wouldn't say it's loud either. it's a big item so check your case clearnace to be sure. fit no problem into a HAF912.

The fan gets a bit noisy over 1000Rpm

Overclocked a 2600k m 4.6ghz without problem. You can get some better heatsink, but not much more performance for more than twice the price. Pricematch at 30$, real deal.

This cooler rivals expensive air coolers and onboard water coolers. Great for overclocking at half the price or better.
If you want even more cooling replace the stock fan with this one SKU: 26749, and put the stock fan on the back.

Bought this for my i7 2600k and have no problems at all. The assembly is kind of tricky but once you figure it out, it's really easy/fast to install. It has compatibility with both Intel and AMD which is nice and has the option of running dual fans. Overall great heat sink especially for the price (even better when it goes on sale).

-Way better than stock cooler
|
-Tight fit around tall heat spreaders
|
After market cooling manufacturers need to step up and take notice of the kind of performance Coolermaster is offering up here for the dollar. I don't need to go into all the review details posted everywhere but what I will say is do some homework and read the professional reviews along with ratings given by buyers and look for yourself. Exceptional bang for the buck here.

Quiet - it's a heatsink! ?
|
Didn't come with a person to apply the thermal paste for me! I hate that crap!
|
took my asus P8p67 pro temps down from almost 80 celcius on 4.2 oc while hardcore gaming, to 40- 42 degrees with a 4.7 ghz oc after four hours straight of COD gaming. Enough said, great cooler and with the extra fan for a push pull setup, cool as I could hope for without sounding like a jet engine. Happy now with the i5-2500k rockin at 4.7 and nice and cool. NCIX rocks as usual!

Very nice CPU cooler and heatsink for around $30. Matches up to the performance of the CM 212 Plus and other heatsinks which cost much more than $30. Temperatures at idle: 35 degrees Celsius. Temperatures gaming: 45 degrees Celsius.

well build, good retention bracket, cheap price to pay for the result

Nope....

install this for a friend in a Antec Sonata case, fits without any issue other than the bottom of the fan was touching the top of the Gskill Ripjaw heat spreader, i just install the fan a little higher, so nothing to go crazy, Fit on a Gigabytes P55AUD4P with i7 860 Run 30min of Linpack h max and temps never went over 67deg.C so really good performer plus the fan is a PWM one

quiet, good cooling, well built
|
base a little tricky to get right but for the price it's a non-issue
|
Bought this for an 2500K, keeps it very cool, haven't tried much overclocking yet as I just put it together. This unit had good reviews and for the $5 more than the 212 Plus seemed to be a good deal. Lives up to the reviews. Some found it hard to install, the base is a little tricky to figure out but not that hard. Pins were already set to the lga1155 position so didn't have to fool with that. Fan seems pretty quiet to me, I just have the 1 fan on it, it is blowing out the top of the case and there is a 140mm fan about 2" above it so don't feel I need 2 fans on it. I guess I'll find out when I play with the O/C a bit. A big step up from the Arctic Freeze Pro 7 I had on my last gaming rig.

Quality product and performance for price. Lower fan speed for quiet performance given efficient cooling compared to stock Intel heatsink fan.
|

|
New rendition of long standing 212 series, with better direct heatpipe contact with CPU. Does the job of cooling off my i7 2600k with moderately O/C of 3.4ghz to 4.5ghz. Dropped idle temp about 10°-15°, and full load temp about 30°+ compared to the crappy stock Intel heatsink fan. I can get away with using the silent CPU fan setting of my MB and tempts peak at 60° max.
